My initial review mind you is after only one use but product worked exactly as it’s supposed to I felt safer using it because it’s extremely heavy duty. I’ve used the rental one before and the entire compressor bowed once I got the spring compressed and made me a little nervous. I never felt at any point that this one was going to fail and it didn’t on a full-size pick up truck. I’ve seen people Doc stars for lack of instructions but it’s pretty straightforward tool and many things don’t come with instructions these days because all you have to do is YouTube a how to and you can find directions for anything so I don’t think it’s a big issue and if you can’t look at it and figure out how it works then probably shouldn’t be using it and I don’t mean that in a mean way just for individuals safeties who don’t know how the tool works. All in all it was a great product and sometime in the future not too far away I will have to replace my shock absorbers. Financially I was only able to do the 2 1/2 inch lift to try and get my tires from rubbing so it will be used again and it’s handy to have if you have friends or family who need help. Of course if something happens or the product fails I will amend my review or add a new one. All in all though if you’re using or need to use a compressor for some pretty heavy duty springs I would suggest this product.

I used this to replace the front shocks on my 2014 GMC Sierra Denali. I have used J-hook-type spring compressors in the past and they have never been that incredible to use. They were always from the auto part store's 'Loan-a-Tool' program and while they worked, they always seemed a bit sketchy in their operation. These were the largest coil springs I have ever used this type of compressor on and I had heard of other people's issues with Loaner compressors in this application - so I decided I'd purchase a set vs using a Loaner again. I saw this set used in a video on the same vehicle and I read a LOT of reviews here on it and decided to give them a try. Before using them, I did lubricate ALL threads with bearing grease for additional lubrication. They did arrive with a nice oil coating on them, but a heavier lubricant couldn't hurt. I was pretty impressed on how rock solid they felt during operation and my use. I did NOT use the included stabilizer bar that would fasten to each of the individual compressors offering additional stabilization. Based on the feel of these during compression, I didn't feel that it would be necessary. I don't feel that I will need these very often, but based on the sturdy feel of them, I don't think that it would be a problem if I did. The pricing seemed reasonable, even if I never use them again. A shop should have charged me as much, if not more, to just swap the shocks out after I had removed them from the vehicle. If I had to do it all over, I'd definitely buy this set again.

Safety guard attachment was in the way. Also I used the tool upside down to the way they show in the picture. Otherwise I could not use my jaw clamp tool to hold the strut properly. That safety clamp on the spring works well. I used this on my Tacoma and bought it because my old spring compressor tool was bending and I didn't trust it to do the final 2 inches. It is fairly durable but I would not use air tools on it, though I tried on low speed. You need the manual feedback and as it gets tighter alternate often while tightening to help keep strut centered. Grease I applied to help is the silicone paste lube. It is clear and not as nasty looking. And worked well.

DO NOT USE THIS CHEAP MADE COIL SPRING COMPRESSOR it finally after few usage jaws broke off and I am lucky that did not get hurt today on 5/28/2021. and I hope this tool has not hurt anybody else as I had funny feeling about low quality of this tools although slim and handy design but it must be a clone design made in China and I will upload photos later.I bought this coil spring compressor set for being a good slim design for newer European cars such as BMW which I used it first time and was hesitant to compress the spring any further with this tool to avoid breaking the tools using a 1/2 inch drive air gun slowly. this tools kit came without instructions to begin with A total irresponsibility for the sake of first timer use and safety purpose. I suppose if someone get hurt and or die they don't seems to care about it except saying sorry it happen and may be just selling the tool seems to be more important unless the seller has no idea what he is selling like a kids toys. Also instead of sending me an email asking how this tool worked out and any issues with rather than saying we stand behind it till in few years we won't hear back from since may be somebody is dead you won't be able to hear from him then or if injured badly then you will hear from him. however; I had to figure it myself but there are 3 rows of jaws that only two would fit around the coil spring and the middle ones won't grab any part of coil spring and just let it hang in there between the two jaws and also could not compress the coil spring any further when trying to put new strut mount cap back on because of not enough trust in using the tools having seen the jaws are not made of high quality rigid steel and at least it does not look like as I have handled and seen many tools in my past 30 years of line of work and had used another set of coil spring compressor with better capability of compressing the spring and still not sure if I want to keep this set of tools with reading one review I read that a first time user had a broken jaws holder broke on him. that's very scary to see a coil spring breaks loose as result of tool failure however; and for your information we are willing top pay more for a tools that is built more rigid and safe enough that is not needing to worry about accident as result of lower quality made tools or the important part of.

I used this to switch out the springs and shocks on my Ford F150. It handled it with ease, just take your time and tighten each side slowly and equally - also be sure to grease the screws completely prior to first use, it'll save wear and tear and give you peace of mind as well.

Best spring compressor around. I needed something thst could compressor my 2002 gmc sierra 1500 front coil spring. This was the only one that was big enough to fit on the spring and strong enough to do with out bending the tool..... It is a bit expensive but it will hold up... used air tools on it with out causing damage to the tool.
