The on/off/selection switch is located on the back of the unit. It is very tiny and very difficult to go where you want to go. Should be made much larger (there is room) and bigger spaces between the selections. Other than that, the boombox works just fine.

I never thought I'd be writing a review for a CD player in 2024, years after I threw out my CD collection but here we are. We wanted to give our 8 year old some music autonomy without handing her a screen and figured a CD player was the way to go. (It was. She LOVES it. If you are thinking about doing the same for your kid - dive in! Just not with this player.) Unfortunately, this CD player garbage. I should have listened to the 1 star reviews. Upon taking it out of the box you can feel that it is cheaply made. (I realize it was priced low, but I wasn't expecting it to feel like it was made of recycled plastic water bottles.)The first thing you will notice when you turn it on is the sound quality. I wasn't expecting high def, but I WAS expecting it to sound better than my iphone speakers or at least equal to them. Which shockingly, it did not. It didn't even sound close. How can something 30 times the size of an iphone sound WORSE? (Others have mentioned the ridiculous placement of the power switch. That's just annoying.) But that's not all! We got one with a headphone jack so my daughter could listen to it quietly while doing homework or in the early mornings. (There is only so much T.S. we can listen to, but she can listen endlessly!) When we plug in headphones, the entire unit turns off. So the headphone jack was broken from Day 1. We immediately processed a return. I realize there isn't much competition in the CD player market in this day and age, but how did something so cheap actually make it to production? Listen to the 1 star reviews!

It looks nice but I was disappointed slightly in its performance. The sound is crisp and clear but has no “body†in that the speakers are too small to carry much base and the quality of construction is cheap plastic. If you want to listen to philharmonic music on a CD, you need to spend quite a bit more money because you will be disappointed by the small speakers of this that just don’t carry the rich full body sound expected from that kind of music.

I liked that the cd player has full bodied sound and that the cd boombox did not skip entire tracks of brand new cds that I just opened and were never played before like my previous cd boombox made by a name brand competitor did even after cleaning the boombox with a laser disc cleaner I'm totally satisfied with this Magnavox cd boombox and I would not hesitate to make a purchase from this seller in the future

I brought this boom box for my husbsnd for xmas ... He wanted one for the back deck, when having morning coffee... He was so excited, he could not wait till the summer, he is now using it in the house ... Has all the features he requested ... GREAT VALUE & FEATURES for the price ...

Every time we use our phone the blue tooth has to be reset. Sound quality and reception is terrible.
