The mailbox door can be measured dimensionally in two different ways. You can measure the size of the door, or measure the size of the opening of the mailbox canister. In the case of the mailbox door, the actual dimensions of the door are larger than the canister opening to accompany the hinge at the bottom and to extend beyond the opening and close properly around the outside of the mailbox canister. As a result you will have two accurate ways to measure the product. This ASIN is for a standard T1 USPS Postmaster Approved mailbox. Measurements for this product are as detailed below: Method A: If you measure the canister, the opening will be 6.25 inches by 8.0 inches. This replacement door fit perfectly and was very easy to install after removing the broken door. It took less than 1 minute to install and the magnetic door works very well and blends in nicely with the original mailbox.

This is such a great product, quick and easy to install. I didn't want to have to pull the mailbox out of the brick so this was the perfect option, the old door had a broken riviot, it took longer to get the old door off than it did to install this one.

Love this thing! The broken door on my brick enclosed mailbox drove me crazy! I was so pleasantly surprised how easy it was to install and how well it works! The spring loaded internal tabs hold it well in to place. I'm going to paint it to better match the house but seriously one of my favorite recent puchases even as is. Well worth the money!

the door itself seems good quality - install couldn't have been easier - the only negative comment I have (and I've others with the same comment) is that the magnet could be more substantial and attached. The door closing is not as tight as it could be as a result. I am likely to do the same fix as others with some heavy duty glue and or another more substantial magnet to keep door tightly closed.

Bought this to replace my aging mailbox. Fortunately, only the lid had to replaced and was searching around for mailbox lid only replacement.This design is so simple and elegant, fits naturally and no rocket science degree required to install.

When my mailbox door rotten off I thought I was doomed to try to figure out how to rig something up to get it to close. But... my neighbor found your product on Amazon and it could not have been easier to use. It simply slipped into place perfectly! No fuss, no mess, no drills, no tools. It literally just slipped into place. I did use a rubber mallet to tap it in, but WOW, it works like an entirely new door (which it is, but you know what I mean)! I love it!
