An easy way to keep an even seam across long stretches. Strong magnet--read WARNING.___I ordered this to use when sewing some simple home decor items, specifically rectangles of one type or another--I am not a quilter.___Basically you position this so one long side is aligned on the outside edge of your fabric with the machine needle is the seam allowance away (e.g. 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch or 5/8 inch, etc).___There is a side with an overhang, so likely your fabric can fit underneath, AND you have the option of using the straight side with NO overhang (handy if you have extreme texture or thick cording involved.___WARNING: The magnet is a MAGNET, and if your machine is electronic (vs just electric powered), KEEP THE MAGNET AWAY from the column section where the electronic controls are located. Electronics are sensitive to magnets and you just don't want to take a chance. The bed of the machine should be fine, though I would still keep an inch away from where the column emerges from the sewing bed/table.___Bottom line: This is a handy sewing "gizmo".___I hope this review helped you and my fellow 'sewists' in some way.

This is a great little tool. I always struggle with wobbly seams when finishing. This allowed me to improve significantly. And this magnet is legit! Almost too strong. The little divet lets you tilt it to release the magnetic hold and remove or change, fortunately. I didn't know I needed this and now I'm really glad I have it.

I love sewing gadgets, and this is an interesting one. As I began to use it, I realized for my machine the uses seem a bit more limited. I do love the combination of the magnet and silicon anti-slip surface. It holds in place very well. There is an indent on one side under the plastic overhang that makes it easy to slip a finger under and lift the gadget off the machine. Unlike other magnetic seam guides, this one is only good for one size of seam due to the overhang. For most of what I sew, this was too large. I wish there was a way to adjust this seam guide to different widths. Also, my consumer-level sewing machine has a metal throat plate, but everything else is plastic. This limits the placement options on my machine. Another small detail (shown in picture) is that my seam ruler mm did not match up to the mm shown on this magnetic seam guide, so I couldn’t use it for measuring. Overall, this is a great idea but was too limited on my machine.

This magnet worked great on my machine. It stuck well and helped me to sew straighter lines. I have tried other sewing guides but they didn’t stay in place. I recommend this for a great tool for sewing.

This seam guide looks identical to the listing photos. The magnet is of medium-strong strength and the silicone pad along the bottom is a nice touch as well. I’m excited to use it as I continue my sewing journey!
