The HG6530VK is 2000W and features precise temperature control with a push-button temperature control (122° - 1, 022° F) and slide switch for three air flow settings so the user can set the heat and blower speed to the application. The HG6031VK has a compact design (only 2 lbs. ) with a rubberized pistol grip handle. For added convenience during nozzle changes (nozzles sold separately), the integrated rear stand supports the gun in the "up" position. Versatile! Is what comes to mind. From the aspect of all heat guns can for the most part do the same job, this one hits different. The multiple heat and temperature settings is a game changer. Built solid. A little heavy if your holding up for a while which is what I use it for (tint and wraps) but you get what you pay for, a well put together product. Does not feel like cheap plastic. Do t know what else to say! Buy it if you need it! Well worth the price.

I purchased this tool not only because it has an easy-to-read & easy-to-adjust digital heat read-out, but because it has a 3-position air flow setting that includes a rapid cool-down feature (position 1). The cool-down position cooled down my heat gun in just a few min, as opposed to waiting around for 20-plus min it takes many other guns to cool down sufficiently to put away in their case. I must also say I was very impressed with the short amount of time it took for this heat gun to reach the temp setting I set it for. That, along with using it with the wide narrow nozzle attachment to focus the hot air in a more concentrated area, made it extremely easy work when I used this tool to soften the glue line at the junction of two pieces of wood.........all without any damage to the wood, and I was able accomplished this in less than a min. Finally, an added nice feature is how crazy quiet this tool is while using it in its highest air flow setting. What I did not know is that while I have used a number of different types of heat guns, I have never used a heat gun that was this quiet. It was so quiet that part of me thought that there is no way this quiet gun would ever reach the needed temp I had set in such a short period of time at the air flow I was using. However, not only did it reach the temp I needed and do so quietly and quickly, when I was finished and I set the air flow back to the #1 position, the nozzle was cool enough to the touch in less than 5 min. Amazing! I can't say enough about how great a tool this is, and it comes with a nice selection of attachments, too. I'm definitely glad I made the purchase. :-)

I needed a new heat gun for working with thermoplastic material for adjusting a hand splint.This tool is solid and easy to use. Heats up quickly. I usually buy Milwaukee, but for a heat gun this looked like a great tool for less coin.

This heat gun exceeds all my expectations. It’s heat range even solders copper tubing and it’s build quality is very high. I would buy this item again in a heartbeat. Price wise, it is a little high compared to other brands but I have owned some of the other brands, the last one only running for about 30 seconds before giving up the ghost so you only get what you pay for. Buy cheap, get cheap.

Works on almost everything I wanted but it is way too hot to use as a hairdryer. I’ve tried multiple times to dry my hair with this thing but I keep getting burned!

Makita wins again. I own many heat guns. This one hands down wins because I can still have the highest heat setting with the lowest blower setting. I think I will order another in case it ever breaks and they stop making it.

I bought a cheaper gun from Amazon and it didn't work right out of the box, so I spent a little extra to get this one. I love it! It has a temperature display so you can set it and then watch it reach that temp. It heats up really quickly, about 10 degrees every few seconds. The attachments feel solid, much better than the cheapo gun I first bought. I've used this about 3 times now and it is performing flawlessly.It has has 3 speeds. The lowest is the cool setting, so make sure you let it run on 1 when you're done until it cools off.My one complaint is they really don't leave enough room in the hard case for the cord. I have to fight with it every time I try to put it away and can barely get the cover closed.

This thing blows all the other ones I've seen or handled away. I had to wait a month to get it but it was so worth it. Yes, it's expensive, but you get what you pay for. This thing crushes anything being sold at the big box stores. Highly recommended.

As a maintenance technician I needed a heat gun to defrost ice build up on A/C condensate grilles and I'm glad that I purchased this one. Excellent quality as one would expect from Makita with variable speeds, digital thermal readout, included accessories in a hard shell case and a cooling mode which works surprisingly quick. Overall excellent design and quality. I couldn't be happier with this acquisition and couldn't recommend highly enough.

Great product, Gets hot quickly, 3 speeds, and lcd screen for adjustable heat, a little pricey but was able to melt snow and ice pretty well in almost -30°c. Also Great for pvc and other plastics
