About this item

  • Traditional design with forged steel jaws, torsion handle spring and side latch.
  • Alloy steel blades with serrated lower jaws for solid gripping power in sheet metals
  • Cuts in tight spaces and overhead
  • Comfortable grip
  • Powerful non-slip cutting leverage

The forged steel jaws of this left-cutting snip are set at a 90-degree angle to allow easy gripping when cutting sheet metal in tight spaces or overhead. The operator can follow tight circular or square pattern left cuts with either a pushing or pulling motion. A serrated edge on the upper jaw and compound head-to-handle linkage provide powerful, non-slip leverage for cutting up to 24-gauge (0.61 mm) cold rolled steel or 28-gauge (0.38 mm) stainless. Handles feature non-slip, cushion inserts, torsion-spring action and a squeeze-open, side operated latch. Rust-resistant polished forged steel jaws and black oxide finished handle stampings promote long service life. AV8, Vertical Left Cut, Red Straight Handle, 1-3/8 in. (34.9 mm) Cut Length

Dulled out my old ones that were probably 15-20 years old. Malco seems to still be making quality products, so I hope this pair lasts just as long.

I was surprised with the ease of use and the resulting work. I drilled into the center of my oval drawing on the aluminum gutter into which I inserted a downspout drain and cut out the material. This was work on a mounted gutter and I inserted the tip of the snip into the drilled hole from underneath the gutter and cut along the line and made the oval hole. I intentionally used just the tip of the snip as I slowly cut along the line. I looked at the work from above the gutter as I used the snip underneath the gutter. It worked great.

This tool is great for me to use when I am doing birdcage and it’s easier to cut the cage at a elevated angle to ensure precision cut on the screen to apply it to the facia and then stable it

I purchased these snips to see how they work with ceiling grid. Sometimes the mains or T's need cut back from the wall. They are great. My current project only has 4" clearance and I had no trouble getting about the main to cut.

Great for those tight places. Or cutting duct work up in the bay. And even helps with over head cuts for supply plenums and return drops.
