I needed to drill out a lot of 4" holes in tin on my metal shop for lights, thought a carbide hole saw would work... don't even try it. I used a 1/2 bit as a starter hole and then used my Makita nibbler, it sucked but worked. I then saw this tool used on some social media post by a guy that builds barndos for a living. Bought this and holy crap, I will forever use this for holes in tin. Cuts like butter even on my thicker gauge PBR panels. PERFECT holes, fast and easy. Built well, heavy duty. Genius idea! GET ONE!

Works well but the item arrives in damaged condition. Manufacture was made aware and suggested returning. The damage is going to happen any way since the frame is not inside the clamshell allowing it to get dinged and banged around. Ours had several chips in the powder coated paint. Using it is super simple but is easiest with a second helper. The drill needs to be high speed and this thing saves a lot of time making those duct work cut outs. Would recommend even if you only plan a few cuts. The cut finish is awesome like a laser cut.Price is a little high for such a simple tool but the end results show why you bought it.Suggestion to manufacture: include a pouch for the tool and allen key along with a spare cutting bit. The price is high enough to do this at no charge.

This product is rugged and does its job well. You really feel the heft when you use it. Only thing I suggest is just make sure that you tighten the nut down well before making your cuts with the device. The first time I used it, I just hand tightened the nut and it came loose. That's my fault, not necessarily the design of the product. It takes a 3/4" wrench to tighten the nut, although a small bar to turn it would also work. I would suggest they include a bar or small cheap wrench to tighten it with as much as it costs. There's probably even enough room to store such a tool in the handle. The paint will get a little scuffed up where the nut tightens. But that should be expected. But overall it is sturdy and works well.

Bought the tool because it cuts sheet metal. It was delivered in a Ziplock bag with no instructions of any sort. The Amazon ad and the Malco website don't specify what type material it cuts, they just say thin sheet metal. I studied the Malco site for operating instructions. I'm working with aluminum and discovered in about ten seconds that it doesn't work well on aluminum. Just softened it and made a mess before the bit broke. I went back to the Malco site, studied it again, and finally checked the FAQ where the fact that the tool isn't good on aluminum is revealed. I wish they'd been more upfront about that in the advertisement and sales pitch. I sent the tool back and I'm waiting for a refund, wondering how much it'll be docked for the broken bit. Probably cuts great on tin and steel, but on aluminum, no.

This tool is the best! It is expensive like Malco normally is but is worth it!

Terrible, soft alloy! I don’t believe it will last long. Didn’t finish the first cut before drill bit broke! Waste of money! Poor product!

Used to cut holes in duct main trunk for spin collars. Quick. Efficient. If you’ve never used one, be careful how you hold it for the last 2” or so of your cut to avoid a bad ending. Delivered to me quicker than estimate. Slightly more money on Amazon than waiting a couple weeks to buy locally but I needed it for an active job. If you have more than 6 circles to cut out of duct, you will not regret this purchase, the cost will feel validated almost immediately. Comes in plastic, no storage case included. Your tin banging toolbox needs one of these.
