I love my Manhasset music stand, and love it even more with the traditional Manhasset stand light. Perfect, old-school craftsmanship and look, and excellent attention to detail. Lights the sheet music perfectly without distracting glare.

I discovered this type of stand light at a recent performance accompanying a singer. She handed it to me with her "book." Excellent light. It does not glare into the other musicians' eyes, or into the audience either, which is especially usefulI when performing in more intimate venues. I use it on the music desk on either Steinway. (Use a small tea towel to prevent marring the wood.) Bend the clips back enough to create a sufficient opening to fit the desk.Be careful not to open them as wide as you think you can make them because the cantilevered metal "spring" will pop out and you have to use needle nose pliers to re-insert it....I learned this too late :-0 You can fit a full score, odd size piano literature, sheet music, compilations, and thick fake books like " The Ultimate," and the "Real Book." You can also bend the top of lamp if needed. For me it works better to bend the fixture upwards a little to have less light on the top of the page. Of course the bottom of the page will not be as lit up as the top! I use this lamp in a professional setting where the stage, and or/room is not lit up enough to see the small chord symbols on scores. This lamp allows me to see 2 to three pages well. If I was to use the whole music desk for reading 5 or 6 pages open at a time, I would buy a second one, or consider a conductor's lamp. I highly recommend this product, it has everything you need, but you many need a longer chord than 6 or 8 feet; it plugs into any extension chord.

This music stand light makes music practice easier. It is a basic lamp, study, and with enough light to illuminate the music resting on the Manhassett music stand, which it fits perfectly. It is much more satisfactory than the clip-on, two-bright-bulb, battery operated lamp which I have grumbled about and struggled with for many years.

The lamp is much sturdier than I had expected. The clips that hold it on are quite strong. And it is a perfect match for the Manhasset music stand. I love this thing, although I will be buying an LED bulb. I am visually impaired and need a very bright light source. Otherwise the brightness would be fine as is.

I wanted an ac wired light for my music stand. This one seems angled wrong and it’s not adjustable, unless you consider bending the main metal piece by force adjustable. It’s a dim light and only lights the top half of my music. I will try the suggested bulb change, but I wouldn’t get this one again. I’ve seen better.

Manhasset is the gold standard for school music stands and this Manhasset stand light works perfectly. It spring-clamps on the top edge of the stand leaving room for music and gives just the right amount of light to get the job done without too much glare. It even matches the color and finish of the basic black stands. I'm a retired music teacher and purchased several stands and now this stand light for my personal use. The Manhasset company is amazing and adapts to customer needs. I've purchased several purple-colored stands and two different shades of pink stands for my grandkids and as a gift for a new pastor. Around 45 years ago they improved the design of where the stand attaches to the base by adding a larger diameter cap and longer bolt to eliminate the common wobbliness of well-used stands, and as a student teacher remember helping to retro-fit older stands with a kit from Manhasset. This company is a true American treasure.

Solid metal . Looks and feels like it is part of my Manhasset stand. Frosted 40 watt bulb that came with it is great. Not sure why it got some bad reviews on lighting. Unlike some reviewers, it does illuminate the very bottom of the sheet music. Maybe some have vision issues but it works very well for me.. the light turns on by a rotory knob and feels very solid. I worked in the electrical appliance business, and I know a poorly designed light switch and this one is good. Great price as well. I would definitely buy this again. Paul
