This works well. Small size but adequate for 1-2 cups of coffee. Easy to use.

Works really well. I took one start off for capacity. I have to grind twice for my French press or my siphon. It takes some time so doing it twice is bothersome.

I'm beginning to think that none of the manual grinders produce a round, even, consistent grind. This one doesn't -- although it's fine for the price if you're not persnickety about your grind, and it's a little tough to turn. I have another one from Amazon, 4 times the price, and aside from looking prettier and grinding more smoothly, it too produces shards and fines. The only one that makes a beautiful grind is my fancy, very $$$$$ electric Capresso which is such a pain to clean that I no longer use it. Again, if you don't mind some resistance an an imperfect grind, you probably can't beat this price.

Is this a five-star product? Maybe not, but for how well it fits my needs at a low cost, it's five-star for me.I was recently gifted a pricey electric burr grinder and a large bag of coffee beans. I've played around with the electric grinder, and I'm just not a fan. The grind can be inconsistent (I've even found a few partially intact beans amongst the grounds), and it's a LOT of work to clean and maintain. So, I picked up this manual grinder to get through the rest of the beans so they wouldn't go to waste, and I'm very happy with the result. The electric grinder takes about 15-20 seconds versus about two minutes of manually grinding the same about of beans. But the resulting grounds look pretty similar, if not a little smoother from the manual. The manual also wasn't too difficult to grind with, just a moderate amount of effort. I noticed no difference in taste when a compared coffee made with grinds from both the electric and manual. And cleanup is no comparison, the manual is super easy to clean versus the electric. It's small, so really only useful for one or two cups at a time. I could see this coming in handy for travelling, camping, etc., given its compact size.I'm not a coffee snob. I drink it in the morning for the caffeine. I do try to avoid the basic big name brands in favor of local roasters, but other than that it's not something I invest a lot of time in. For a casual like me, this grinder gives me what I need. If you're a coffee hobbyist, this probably isn't for you, as you may want to invest more in your grinder, whether that be electric or manual.
