Wow! Can't believer there any bad reviews for this nut cracker. I was hesistant to purchase it due to the bad reviews. I took a chance and purchased it.We use only for Macadamia nuts. It works SO GOOD! Its very sturdy. You can change the size of the cracker to crack big or small nuts. You only need to pull the handle slightly to crack the nut. If you pull the handle really hard, it will smash the inside of the nut. The box around the cracker catches all the debris from the nut crackage. So happy that we took a chance on this nut cracker.We have a huge Macadamia nut tree and have loved being able to eat the nuts. We eat them raw, after they sit in the sun for 2 weeks. (you need to roll the nuts around, so the sun gets all sides of the nut dried out).This nut cracker is highly recommended. Feel free to ask me any questions. -DG

I've been looking for a good, reliable Macadamia Nut cracker for several years. You probably already know how hard (difficult) they are to crack open. We had one a while ago that was spring loaded and very complicated and time consuming to use. This cracker works like a champ. Just put to nut in the "vice" and pull the handle. Couldn't be easier. The place where you put the nut is also adjustable so you can open large or small nuts. Although I would think it's overkill, you could open other nuts as well. However most other nuts don't require the amount of force that Mac's do. And, on top of working so well, it's not very expensive. Fewer moving parts, fewer problems. Now I'm enjoying Macadamia Nuts all the time where before I wouldn't because they were such a pain to open. Definitely worth it if you have Macadamia Nuts.

This is a great device! I’m embarrassed to say that I do collect nutcracker tools, and out of all the nutcrackers that I have, this is the one that you can have the most control over the amount of pressure you want to apply to the nut, and it’s the easiest for people who have arthritis. I sure hope it lasts but for now it’s just wonderful :-)

This little unit is awesome. You can crack a Brazil nut perfectly every time no issues and no effort I don’t usually write reviews but this thing is worth it.

I have used various nutcrackers for cracking hazel nuts, and none of them made the process so easy and enjoyable. Most hurt my hand or made the nut shells fly everywhere, but his device is simply genius.I love it, and my husband and I had to toss a coin to see who gets to use this device to shell the nuts. I am happy to report that I won and was able to use it to crack two pounds of hazel nuts. Thank you for your creativity and for designing something that actually works.

I don’t write many reviews despite quite a lot of purchases. This warranted a review. I absolutely recommend this for hazelnuts! I tell you I looked for a long time for the right one to buy and I hit the nail on the head with this one. I love that I can adjust the device to fit the hazelnut. l don’t like that the device was attached to the box crooked and off centered. It seemed careless, but it is easy to fix myself with a few tools. No big deal. Before this purchase I used a few hammers to crack the hazelnuts, as you can see in my picture and they mangled my hazelnuts. I tapped them gently between a towel and it didn’t help. This device did the job. After using this device used the soft pot holder to fold over the nut to keep it from popping out of the box when it was cracked and to avoid my fingers from being pinched. Not sure it was totally necessary, but I did have a few shells flip out of the box. I do love this!

Functionally, this nutcracker works great, easily cracking macadamias but... The screws that hold the mechanism in place are too long and poke ever-so-slightly out of the bottom of the wood. This caused a huge scratch in my dining table when I cracked nuts.I put some felt pads on the bottom to fix it, but my table is ruined.
