Bought for my father in law to use during carpentry. Work very well, pencils have a nice coating that is easy for him to grip. Mark well on all kinds of hardwood including walnut and maple.

Great way to become acquainted with soft textured color. While seens to be a problem though. Almost impossible to sharpen without its crumbling

Again I have to give them credit, I was testing this pencil set out and I am very happy with the results.I love the colours I only wished that they had 2 extra colours in addition to all the others that being RED and BLUE. Would have loved this to be a set of 12 colours. Had to admit without the discount I would not have bought it, but at $8.00 I went for it... Perhaps they will add the 2 extra colours next time which would really make this a great set of Colored Charcoal Pencils.

If you’re looking for good quality charcoal pencils, these are for you! The white pencils are truly charcoal, can blend and show up against dark graphite or black charcoal (unlike a waxy colored pencil). The black pencils come in soft, medium and hard which is great for having more control over your work. They sharpen well in a mechanical sharpener but you have to do it gently as charcoal breaks easier than graphite.

Got these for acrylic paintings so I could sketch my idea and I could paint over the lines w/ no problems. So far so good with that. However, learned the hard way that the charcoal is pretty soft. Thankfully I have a really good little hand sharpener, but you need a really sharp good one that will sharpen these without breaking the "lead". Just keep that in mind when you get these. They're nice pencils though.
