Manufactured in the USA
We source our charcoal from companies producing renewable fuel from saw mill waste. Instead of decomposing and releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere or being turned into fuel pellets delaying the eventual release of carbon emissions, the wood waste is heated to a high temperature in a low-oxygen environment through a process called pyrolysis. This process creates a high-carbon content charcoal product that we use as the basis for our charcoal powder.
So not only are you creating something awesome when you use our powders, you're doing something awesome for the planet by sequestering carbon.

I like using this for the smudging of the background before doing a charcoal drawing with a stick. I find it a little messy but it takes a second to do and Im ready to start the art project

Great for underpainting and shadows, but artists would already know that. I've enjoyed using it, and I'm sure everyone lese would too. Price is very good for the amount you get. very little goes a long way.

Good quality charcoal powder , there was some issue with it during transit I think border security stopped it to check it but aside from that not much delay with shipping.For using it straight out of the jar with flat brushes you’d get a softer finish and Color , with brushes that are more dense it only darkens so much. I think you’d have to mix it with another medium and use it like ink to really get full Color payoff but for softer transitions and a Color that reads less grey and more towards charcoal black this is great.
