These bits worked great on brick, mortar and cement and have a nicely shaped oversized point for relatively easy drilling. I can't really judge durability and longevity yet but they were undaunted by serious challenges as new bits. The bits should endure so long as you drill slowly, use water often to keep them from overheating, and use pilot holes first if you need a large hole in the masonry, The only downside to this set is the case, which is a pain because there are too many bits and not enough slots, forcing them to share if you stick with the original case. My solution is to use a graduated holder instead.

I got these to drill into concrete. I’ve tried a few few others, but I was very happy with the way these cut into the concrete nice and smooth.

For getting more drain holes into my dense Italian clay pots, these worked wonderfully. Drilling that initial pilot hole took a bit of patience, but the rest were fairly easy. I used a water spray bottle liberally to keep the bits from over-heating, and just makes things easier.I agree with the comments about the case. Hard to open at first and a bit flimsy. But I won't be using the bits often and it works for me.

Used the 1/4" bit to drill about an inch into some 1930's brick. I needed 8 holes to hang a couple of mailboxes. I was advised by a friend who does commercial HVAC work (drilling into concrete, brick and other hard surfaces as part of his job) to not use high speed and let the bit do the work while being patient. I used a cordless drill so obviously not a ton of power to be had but it is decent (Porter Cable brand). I used the lowest speed and I'd say it took about 15-20 minutes to drill each hole (could have been less but I didn't really time it). I was able to bore into the brick to the desired length without issue (except for the time it took). The bit remained intact and didn't seem to wear much (other than the dark coloration came off a bit). 5 starts because it worked as I'd hoped and as advertised. We'll see if these hold up over time.

Bought these because I didn't have any more masonry drill bits. They are advertised as being super durable, but on the first use of the first drill bit, the 1/2" bit tip broke, halfway through morter between bricks, leaving the metal tip pieces in the hole to be chiseled out by me. These are designed NOT to be used with a Hammer Drill, only a regular drill, so don't turn on your Hammer feature with these for sure, they probably won't last a second on Hammer.I contacted the seller, about my experience, and they made it right for me, so I can't fault them that.I would just use this type of drill bit for lighter work, in other materials.I'm going to get conventional masonry bits for more concrete or brick drilling.

I'm not a contractor but I am somewhat handy. I've had issues drilling into concrete before so I bought these and did my research. In the past, I've had bits snap in half and fly passed me, burned my finger trying to pick up the pieces too. With these sets I've done two things successfully:1 - I drilled holes into bricks outside the front door to install an Amazon Ring doorbell2 - drilled multiple holes inside 2 thick metal barrels for circulation when burning different documentsPro tip, make sure youve done your research if you're not familiar with drilling through concrete. Some things I've learned the hard way with other bits: always wear eye protection, always have a cup of water to dampen the bits every 10-15 seconds in use so they don't overheat and break on you, make sure your drill is powerful enough to do the job you're looking to do, make sure you know the bit size required for the job. Good luck!
