The included shims makes for a perfect fit. Other more expensive brands suggest cardboard or Styrofoam, that is a challenge to get right. This one however fits perfectly, and the shims make for a tight fit assuring air can only travel through the media.

Bought these to replace the original pads in 4800 cfm cooler. Fits perfectly and so much cheaper in price than the factory original pads at $250.00. Air flow is even better and cooling great as well. Definitely recommend these evaporative cooling pads.

Have a 40 year old Champion swamp cooler, media pads of the correct size appear to not be available on Amazon, could not find a Champion person to talk to, bought what I could, had to fabricate a baffle since pads are not tall as my cooler, but were as wide and as thick. So, system works but probably at 80% of the efficiency it was designed for, since I have only 80% as much pad. Now, one could buy two sets, and cut one down, and fit it all together, but it would require some wires to hold the whole thing together, and it works fine, as is, in our 96 degree dry heat.

These pads cool down the incoming air to 40-degrees below outside temperature if the outside humidity is low. I noticed very little smell with these new pads.
