This backpack is light, solidly built and versatile. I've traveled by backpack thru Europe more than 15x with Jansport and Rick Steves backpacks (both great and well built). This Matein backpack is my favorite. It's the ideal size for me (which of course varies by person), as I've learned from years of travel the invaluable benefit of packing light. Still, this pack easily holds everything I need, including a separate pocket for an additional pair of shoes/sandals.Some reviews in here say the zipper broke on early use, but I never experienced issues with zippers or anything else. My backpack must be durable, as I travel thru Europe by train and to multiple destinations, so it gets carried a lot on my trips and gets a bit roughed up at times.The Jansport pack I traveled with in my younger days was excellent and well-built, but was a top-loading pack, which can be very inconvenient for easily accessing all the contents. Still, I continued traveling with it for years until a shoulder strap broke.The Rick Steves pack, also very well-built, sort of hung on my back like a sack of potatoes. I traveled with this backpack for many Europe trips and its durability and comfort were great. The biggest issue I have with this pack is the laptop pocket is on the outer side (meaning farthest away from my back), which is not ideal for weight distribution, especially for heavier laptops. With the Matein pack the laptop pocket is right against my back, which is ideal weight distribution. This really makes a big difference when carrying the pack for extended periods. Backpacks get heavier when carried for extended periods and in hot weather as you become worn out and tire (more reason to pack light!). I thank Rick Steves for helping me learn to pack light.This Matein pack is soft-sided with more firm corners and adges, which gives the pack stronger form so it doesn't hang on me like a sack of potatoes. This is one of the benefits I really appreciated, along with the location of the laptop pocket and the fact that it fits in the overhead bin on flights (never waste your time checking bags). For a traveling style that requires a backpack to be both durable and comfortable, this is a good one. It also has an outside handle to carry it like a suitcase with the shoulder straps easily tucking away into their own pockets.Given all of that, I've only traveled with this pack once for two weeks, jumping on and off trains (sometimes several times a day), and it performed very well and exceeded my expectations. It handled very well my somewhat rough and rigorous travel style.Most people overpack. Consider what backpack size you need and always aim to underpack - your future self will thank you!

I purchased this bag to use as a carry on for my flight. It was comfortable to wear and seems to be well made.It has multiple zippered pockets on it front and back.I used it for a mid-weight jacket, a laptop, paperwork, snacks, charging cables and an extra change of clothing ( just in case). All of that and it was only about 2/3 full. And it fit into the overhead bin easily.It fit in the overhead bin easily.

I like this pack. I haven’t traveled with it yet but it seems well made. I like the pockets and compartments. The zipper works good and it seems very comfortable.

Great for casual business weekend travel . Easy to carry . Enough room for 3 days easily. No baggage claim. Straps real well to a sissy bar or open road getaway.

My grandson received this backpack as a gift & was happy with the size & quality. It was bigger than the other pack he’d received! He liked the security features, thought it would fit well & be comfortable for him…and you can’t go wrong with black!!

CONs: No rigidity at all, it feels like light fabric.PROs: Well-designed and superior built; the shoe compartment helps a lot. Tons of space; fits well under sit in front.I bought it some 7 months ago and have taken it on 2 long trips, one in the US and one to Europe. On the last trip (14 days) this thing was loaded with 16Kg/35lb of all kinds of stuff including many electronics. Most items were packaged into "packing cubes" which expedited accessibility to security checking staff in 5 airports. Otherwise, there's too much for X-Ray machines to discern what's inside.Despite feeling lightweight, this backpack performed admirably; not a single stitch popped and the zippers performed without issues. Talking about the zippers you may want to have small carabiners or tiny padlocks to prevent their opening; they tend to open spontaneously.I packed Water Sports Shoes in the shoe compartment and was able to use them during tans-Atlantic flights with the corresponding comfort advantage.I'm very happy with the purchase and wholeheartedly recommend it as a carry-on substitute. Its light material allows it to squeeze under the front seat as long as it's not packed to the max and under pressure. I did not receive any observations or warnings from airline staff about its size despite its capacity (and weight).

Por el precio me parece un excelente opcion, es de buen tamaño y los materiales parecen resistentes.Lo que no me encanta es el logo de Matein es un sticker que hace que la mochila no se vea de tanta calidad. Los cierres cochan al caminar y hacen ruido, nada exagerado, pero lo pueden considerar. El tamaño para botella de agua es muy pequeño

Perfecta para viajes de 7 a 10 dÃas. Espacio suficiente para ropa, accesorios, documentos, etc. Todo el espacio que necesitas para tus viajes en general. Muy buena calidad; ya he viajado varias veces y a tope la mochila y no se han dañado los zippers, etc.

It has all the necessary compartments and more. I had personally wanted a bag capable of being opened completely like a suitcase for easier access to my dresses and stuff. This perfectly fits that. Material quality is good. Only drawback might be that it dosent have an 'excellent' zipper nor does it have a lock . Its worth its price and travelling with it was very comfortable.
