the brown sinking line is made to sink @ a rate of 3ips{inch per second} were the black is a 6ips line, the different is the size in diameter the brown is half the size of the black line. TO NOTE: make sure of your backing on the bigger black line, being its larger in size, if you have to much backing it wont , here is a sure way to know, first spool the braid on the reel { if unsure of the and without a line counter, spool on the line till the bottom of the guide holes in the reel bearly show then stop.! that on 5/6 should be 90yds @20# braid or 80 yds of 30# braid for a 7/8 reel. then tie together the braid and the sinking line and complete the rest of the sinking line on the reel.
Fit great, easy purchase will no issues

No complaints after a couple hours test-driving it on the forgiving water of my local pond.It hasn't got the most durable coating in the world, but for $11 (as of this writing) it could, paired with a 10wt rod, really huck my tiny popper on a breezy day, then drag the thing right down to the bottom.I didn't catch any fish, but that's probably because a line like this makes such a massive splash that the water level in the pond changes. But I got it to do some ocean fishing, and the big beasts there won't even notice this line. Or me, until it's too late. That's the plan, anyhoo. GIDDYAP.So, what do they say about it? A weight-forward taper? Yeah, I guess, technically. It's about 8.6mm at the fattest part, 8.4mm at the thinnest. And yes, the fat part's in front. Except for the skinny part that's in front of that. I'm pretty sure that's how it's supposed to be.I couldn't tell you how far I cast this line. Kind of far? Nowhere near close to the backing. Who are these t-shirt-shredding hulks doing that, anyway?I cast it about as far as I can cast my 6wt line, maybe 50 feet? Call it operator error. The difference between this and the 6wt line though is I can basically let a little of this line out into the water, pick it up once and send it as far as it's gonna go.And let me tell you, that's nice, because false casting with this line is like trying to swing a live giant squid over your head with one hand. You need to get this puppy up - and you're gonna need two roll casts, not one, - and let 'er rip. Otherwise you will absolutely be getting another hole in your head. Ask me how I know.Seriously, wear a hat, wear sunglasses...and go ahead and buy this line, it's good enough.

I haven't fished the line yet but it spooled up nice and seems to have very little memory.I'm planning on using it in a couple of days on a local lake and will update my review as far as casting and sinking characteristics.

Once untangled, this line performs phenomenally. Casts very well and sinks as well as orvis depth charge line (300grain). Casting is well balanced, line loads well, and shoots well. I used it in saltwater for bull drum 20+ lbs.
