I used this for tapping some holes in 5/16 mild steel 24" pipe and it worked great. I only used it 2 times but it was sharp and cut easily without breaking so it does what I needed it to do.

I use this tap at work a lot and so far it's cutting like new. I gave it a 5 because it's working,I will see how long it lasts. I've had it for a few months and am tapping holes from 5/8 to about 7/8'ths of an inch deep in steel that's anywhere from 1 to 2 inches thick.
