They are used to create right hand threads in a range of materials. It is available in two different ANSI standards: UNC (Unified Coarse) and UNF (Unified Fine). The premium high speed steel M2 material provides long tool life. The straight flutes are suitable for threading through holes and blind or bottoming holes.
This uncoated taps can be used on a broad range of materials. The round shank with square driver makes the taps suitable for hand or power-driven applications.

First class product. Performed just as advertised. Manufacturer did not tap the hole all the way in a tight space with low clearance. This tap did the the job perfectly.

Needing some metric taps I found that many sets are much cheaper than this one tap, yet the sets had many complaints about breakage, so I decided to purchase each size separately. I'm glad that I did - this is an excellent quality tap that is a welcome addition to my shop. Given proper care I expect this tap to last a long time.

A little disappointed this is not a bottom tap even when the title states it is. The tap looks good and makes M3 threads just fine. Just note if you are looking for a bottom tap, keep looking.

I like the clean finish of the tool and it works on fitting 6M screws on old bottoming threads. It’s exactly the tool I need.
