They are used to create right hand threads in a range of materials. It is available in two different ANSI standards: UNC (Unified Coarse) and UNF (Unified Fine). The premium high speed steel material provides long tool life. The straight flutes are suitable for threading through holes and blind or bottoming holes.

Did what I needed them to do. I had to replace a busted press-fit pin with a machine screw in a blind hole in stainless steel, so I needed the plug tap to start the threads and the bottoming tap to cut threads to the bottom of the hole. I used 3-in-1 oil, chucked the tap(s) in the drill press and spun the chuck by hand. They worked.

I use these taps for tapping rivet posts on custom hot wheels and other diecast vehicles after they've been drilled for disassembly. I have previous broken a few taps from another brand and decided to try something new. Not only was the quality immediately better, but having three different tap types was very helpful for my projects. Very happy with these!

I needed an assortment of good HSS taps to replace the tap I broke while threading a steel part. I use these at home in my garage metal working areas. All I had was a bottoming tap, so I need the availability of the Plug and Taper taps for some of my projects.
