This makes the MB1000-000 an excellent choice for use where high sensitivity, wide beam, or people detection is desired. The MB1000-000 from the LV-MaxSonar-EZ line of sensors is a very small, less than one cubic inch, ultrasonic sensor component module. This sensor comes with mounting holes provided on the circuit board for easy installation in nearly all applications. In addition, the MB1000-000 learns the ringdown pattern when commanded to start ranging. This helps the sensor to learn the environment and can help the sensor ignore obstacles that are present at power-up.

I was turned on to MaxBotix after reading about their products in an Arduino forum. I purchased this item first before realizing it has no filtering. After adding some filtering, the noise levels dropped, however it is not good for the environment I am running it. The product itself works great, but was an imporper fit. I have since upgraded to an EZ1 with some built in shielding and filtering. I plan to use this for obstacle avoidance. This item also becomes exponentially inaccurate over soft environments, or at distances over a meter.

I bought MaxBotix sonar a few months ago and worked great until few days ago when I started having problems with it. I sent MaxBotix ONE email and they ALREADY shipped a replacement sonar and a return box with shipping label for the sonar I have to return. I'm very impressed with them, great customer service and great product.
