We needed the cone to process 24 broiler chickens. My husband said the bottom of the cone where the chickens neck comes through was too small. He said it was hard slicing their heads off because he couldn’t get a good grip to pull their neck through. Our chickens weren’t an enormous size either. They were about the same size as the grocery store whole chickens.

It’s not pleasant no matter how you do it, but this holds everything together as you dispatch your birds. It has those handy screw holes that allow you to slide it up and off so you can keep your inconspicuous screws where you hang it and then put your cone away after. It’s great for a backyard processing area.

I’m sure it would work great for other birds, definitely not the greatest for turkeys even on the small side.

Great idea! I wish I had gotten the small one- I thought I had medium sized birds but once in the cone we could not see the head.I will cut it and re-use... I just wish there was more info on the weight of the birds going into the cone. Maybe I missed it.

The killing cone was smaller than I wanted. Medium-sized birds do not fit in it.
