Lately, my music practice has been tainted by life's pervading questions, leaving me unable to thoroughly enjoy plunk'ing around on all my favorite instruments. I decided to try this wacky toy, to see if it maybe sparked my forgotten inspiration to make a fun tune or two. It did not, whatsoever. I played it for a total of 2 minutes and put it away on the shelf above my dresser. It is a fine instrument, makes a noise, but it wasn't the answer I was looking for. I need to stop spending my hard earned money on frivouls things like this... but if I save, I ask myself, "why am I working"? What is money without something to spend it on? I am stuck in this loathsome loop. Maybe a therapist would be more what everyone whose bought this is looking for.

This cuica is amaaaaazing! 'Love using it. The "build" is great - just the right size for that fun Brazilian funk sound. Cradle the drum horizontally, make sure you use a small piece of damp (only very slightly damp!) cloth/rag to wrap lightly & once around the bamboo stick, pinch it/rub it up and down while alternatively touching and not touching the center of the drum head center on its outside with the tip of your index finger, and eee-eee ooo, eee-eee ooo...you are on your way! Just make sure you NEVER get the head wet. If you break the drum stick get the drum repaired at a music store (about $35).

Fine quality and sound as one tends to expect from Meinl Percussion products. Brushed aluminum drum comes with a quality goatskin drum head. It is a minor detail, but the Meinl logo painted on the head began to crack shortly after being used; excellent sound and craftsmanship overall.

I have never played this instrument before, and I recall being amazed when I saw someone play it, as I could not figure out how the sound was being made. I get exactly the right sound from this as I recall from the performances I've seen. For those who are new to this instrument, do NOT forget to order some rosin. The Qweeka does NOT work without it.

Lo strumento è buono, anche se il suono è un po' grave. Anche come dimensioni, forse sarebbe meglio un diametro più piccolo.

Bel instrument. Mais je n'ai pas aimée cette cuica parce que lors de l'accordage le cercle inférieur où se trouve les vis remonte par dessus le bourrelet de la caisse et donc impossible de tendre la peau de façon efficace. J'ai donc retourné le produit. Je préfère donc acheter un produit fabriqué au brésil pays de la samba. Celui-ci est fabriqué a Taiwan. Peut être s'agit il d'un défaut de fabrication sur cet cuica ? J'ai été déçue de mon achat.
