I put a metal cutting disk on this bad boy, and it is fantastic. I build 4x8 fence panels as a side business, and this little guy is perfect for cutting the hardware cloth. Easy to control, and the right amount of power to make my job a lot easier.

After reading some of the negative reviews, I was expecting a piece of junk that sounded like a coffee can full of rocks. This tool has a very substantial feel and appears to be good quality. Angle grinders are never the smoothest-running power tools, but this one feels a lot closer to one of my better grinders than it does to one from the local tool place that sells cheap imports; and I have bought many of both. This is definitely better made than the cheapo variety. It is true that the on-off switch is a little stiff. It’ll probably loosen up a bit with use. It’s not a problem in any case. I have expensive angle grinders, but I like to use cheap ones for dirtier jobs that don’t require the power of a more expensive tool. This one will be perfect for that use. 6.2 amps is plenty for many light tasks such as wire brushing the slag off of welds and the like. This is a good buy, and when it does go to tool heaven, the case - and those aren't cheap - will live on.EDIT: I just spent a full day on a welding project and used this grinder quite a bit. I have several angle grinders with different flap disks, wire brushes, cutoff wheels etc. because no one likes changing the wheels constantly. The last one of my cheap grinders from the freight place stopped working altogether - it's switch hasn't locked for a long time but at least it spun. I replaced it with another one of these Metabo HPTs. They're a good machine for a low price. Hard to beat and even though the price has gone up 25% over what I paid, it's still a very good value.

Wanted a angle grinder for some time. Like Metabo products and the price was good. Needed to cut a hole in some old cement board. Bought some diamond blades and this tool made short work of it. Look forward to using this tool again. Very happy.

Just a basic, solid tool that does the job well. The case is nice, but I'd happily pay $5 less if they kept it, as well as the assorted grinding wheels. I've purchased 2 or 3 of these over the years now, and since I abuse them I've got extra cases and would prefer if it and the largely superfluous grinding wheel were an optional extra. Other than that, no gripes. A good tool.

Metabo HPT 4 1/2 angle grinder is an excellent high quality power tool. It has lots of power in a small size and light weight that's easy to handle, which makes it a very secure to control angle grinder! I have other grinders, but this is my favorite for the small easy to operate size, I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE METABO HPT 4 1/2 INCH ANGLE GRINDER FOR THE DIY & PROFESSIONAL ENTHUSIAST LOOKING FOR HIGH BRAND QUALITY & DURABILITY!!!

Former Hitachi, Metabo has the same durability. The only dislike is the switch bottom, it’s hard to push and slide but I can live with that. Did I mention it comes with a case!! It’s another reason to get it.

Es una muy buena herramnienta llevo usandola unos 2 meses casi de diario le doy uso intensivo y hasta ahorita todo muy bien solo me hubiera gustado que trajera otro tipo de mango ya que el que trae se muy sencillo de ahi en fuero es como un makita en potencia y desempeño lastima que la subieran de precio

El propietario de metabo es Hitachi, una empresa de muy alta reputación en sus productos, este esmeril le he dado más de 30 horas de trabajo activo desde hace 20 dÃas que empecé a usarlo, y ha sido excelente, sobre todo con el calor de Yucatán las herramientas eléctricas suelen sufrir mucho.
