Had to order a 2nd one after I destroyed the first one because i wanted to be fast and not read the instructions thinking that my unit didn’t fit.Turns out it did fit and I didn’t had to cut material off with my dremel because i tried to fit the radio from the outside instead of the inside of the frame.There was a small frame on the radio installed that prevented me from doing so.I later on discovered this, but hey at least learned something for the future.Fits nicely, flush finish with dashboard.No difficulty installing it.

Pros: easy to use works great I personally just had to do some modification which you can read down belowCons: the screws that came with it did not fit the appradio 2 holes I had to really drill them in which Is possible dangerous to other radios. Other thing my bottom and top was labeled wrongMy experience: I bought this to put in my 2002 passat to go along with my appradio 2 yes the old model. My radio might be different then other double dins. The first day I put it in I realized the radio and the face plate would not go back all the way sucks looks decent but not ultra clean the way I want it. So after a couple days I figured out in the radio din area in the back is a dumb decent sized e peace of plastic blocking the radio from being pushed back all the way. After 30 to 45min I cut the peace of plastic out with a small saw and then the radio goes back all the way fits as flush as can be.

The kit fits around the head unit really tight, but I promise it fits. You have to get both sides of the side with the clips in first and then force the other end on. The directions show that you have to put the side with the clips on the top of the head unit, but doing so will let the bottom end slide out. You have to put the clips on the bottom of the head unit so the dash kit can clip into the little spaces right above the AC adjusters. All in all, a pretty good kit. I did this with a 2001 GTI, it should be the same for the Jetta and so on though.

Crutchfeild told me there is absolutely no way to get a double din head unit in my Jetta. After looking around at some VW forumes, I was led to this install kit. The part is sturdy, and it blends in with the stock dash. I did have to modify the installation slightly. Not any fault of the product however. The cradle behind the stock stereo had been cut (by me) to acommodate a single din unit, so i had to modify the stock radio cage a little more to mount the double din unit solidly. The only problem I found was the slide out cup holder doesn't open as easy due to the cover contacting the DD dash kit. A few minutes with a fine file fixed that. And it wouldnt be an issue if you have a 2003.5 and up since the cupholders were moved to the center console. Good quality, great price, and i proved the know-it-alls wrong.

Fits nicely. Be aware that some cheaper double din stereos are slightly larger. It was a very snug fit and my kit needs some modifications to fit the stereo

It fits well. Prefect! Make sure you wire up everything correctly before put this into place are else you will have a hard pull it back out.
