On my Jeep Cherokee Laredo with Uconnect 8.4" head unit the screen started doing phantom presses and became intermittently unresponsive to touch. On occasion it would attempt to make phone calls without my input. This of course was highly irritating.Initially, I looked into replacing the entire head unit, which I found to be in the neighborhood of $1500. NOPE. Forget that, I'd just rather settle to listening to my cell phone speaker. After more time passed and more frustration built, I researched the issue a little deeper. I was surprised to find how many people were experiencing the same problem with their head units. What I learned was that the head unit's touch screen is comprised of two components. There is the actual glass screen which displays the images, and then a thin screen glued on top of it called the digitizer which takes the input from your fingers and relays the position of where you touch to the head unit. What happens after some time is that the glue between the digitizer and the screen develops air bubbles (look in my first photo) which leads to the erratic behavior of the unit. So, after watching many YouTube videos I learned this is a DIY that can literally save you over $1k. Not only can it save you money, but you can have it done quicker than sending your car in to replace the unit, or even removing the unit and sending it away and waiting fr it to be returned would take.It IS a process. It does require disassembling a portion of your dash (snap clips) and then removing the head unit. After that, you have to separate the digitizer from the screen. Then you must diligently remove the glue from the screen. At that point you simply attach the new digitizer to the screen and reinstall the head unit in the vehicle.I'm pretty sure if I had simply cleaned the glue off of the old digitizer, and reattached i to the screen, that it would have fixed the problem that simply. However, for this low price on this new digitizer, it saved me a bit of time by not having to remove glue from the old one. Well worth it in my opinion. This was the least expensive digitizer I found on Amazon, and they all do exactly the same thing. So I have no idea why anyone would pay more.I received the item quickly and it was packaged as though it were valuable crystal. You can't go wrong with this purchase.

It was packed very well. As for appearance and quality I couldn't see the difference between it and the original. Works just fine so far. It was easy to install after you get past cleaning all the nasty glue and residue left from the other digitizer.

Didn't work at all. I spent a significant amount of time prepping and installing it. It was an instant failure. Ultimately, I spent $160 to replace the whole screen. Save your time and spend the extra money. It will be worth it.

It worked perfectly had problems with the screen for a while. Thought it was gonna be super difficult or expensive it is neither.

It was an okay product, the screen came to me with a chip off of the side. I still tried to use it but it did not work or stick well enough.

I bought this when my Dodge Uconnect screen started delaminating and I had ghost touches driving me crazy and I couldn't listen to the radio. I had to take it apart to remove the adhesive under the digitizer. I ended up cracking the original screen and replaced it with this. At first it didn't work because I didn't have the pins lined up correctly but when I tried it again it worked great. My screen works perfectly now. Thank you!
