This was exactly what I needed. I installed an aftermarket radio in my truck about a year prior to installing my new one. The harness for it didn’t work because I was too cheap to buy the controller that let’s you use all the factory goodies like steering controls, on Star and serious xm. So I ended up chopping up my radio harness to try and find the right wires without me realizing that it didn’t matter because all of the wires go to an amp. So when I went to replace the old aftermarket radio with a new one. I had to get a new wiring harness. This thing works amazing. It’s what you want it to be. Nothing more. Nothing less. There are some extra wires but you don’t have to use all of them. Great product and very affordable. Hopefully won’t have to buy again, but if I do I will definitely buy this product.

The wire colors are not the same as the vehicles wires but with a little brains its not hard to figure out. On the plus side it is the correct harness and the quality is really good so four stars just because I had to figure out which wires went where buy matching the old harness. I feel bad though for some one who doesn't have the old harness as a guide as there is a lot of wires on the harness and only a hand full get used. Good Luck!

I was in awe when I received these harnesses. Most of them are stamped on which wire goes where. Need magnifying glass to see them, but most of all, it comes with the wire color, and what it controls. There's 1 on the package and a more detailed 1 inside. The price was under $10, and definitely O.E.M.Grade, not what I expected, being the low price. The color and placement of the wires, are 90% accurate to the shop manual for 1999 to 2003 Silverado 4.8L, 5.3L. Although the Manual is 1999 to 2006 Silverados, Avalanche, Suburban, the wiring diagram colors changed a bit in 2004 to 2006 V8 Models. This 24 pin connector, plugs right in to your Instrument Cluster, making diagnosis of Cluster a breeze when bench testing with an OBD II, mid priced scan, read, and erase trouble codes. For experienced DIY Mechanics.👍😎✌

Well I see I am not the only one who made the mistake of getting the wrong gender adaptor for my 2003 Cavalier. This is the side that plugs into the FACTORY RADIO so it will not work for an aftermarket.Silver lining however, the factory harness is really poor looking and I frankly would not use it to rewire my factory radio back into my car, so I will keep this for wiring my original stereo back into my car.

Works Perfectly For What I Am Doing... I connected speakers and power wires to a set of bookshelf speakers and a 12 volt power supply from indoors in the house and the Automobile Radio Becomes A House Radio/CD Player. Connect antenna wire to Radio From Motorola Plug and it's a great way of playing music, and testing Automobile Radios out. I have a good collection of radios from my Automobiles I have owned and replaced to Aftermarket ones and from Automobile Junk Yards and Ebay has GM Factory Radios for around $25 from Junk Dealers. Great Idea for a collection like mine just buy up old radios and turn them on like they were in the Automobile. Thought about making a stereo rack out of wood like they have at Audio Displays in stores and connect them up to a few speakers. Otherwise they just lay around collecting dust in a storage shed seen tons of radios in junk and antique yards some from 1960's 1970's and 8 Tracks to Cassette ones. LOL :)

This product did not work for my Colorado and I am stuck with it. The seller does not allow returns. You have to go through a grilling process and still get denied the return so now I'm stuck with a product that is useless to me. I will make sure I don't order anything from Metra again as they do not stand by their products and have terrible customer service.

I order this thinking that it was the adapter for the aftermarket stereo but it is not I should have done a proper research on my Vehicle.

Awesome product. Very happy Metra produces these. It really helped me out and saved me hundreds in the long run. The only reason I did not give this 5 Stars is because there should be a better instruction manual, with better labeling. Labeling should be using terms that are the same as the manufacturers terms, with descriptions of the wires. All 24 pins are wired and I only used about half of them and had a hard time with some because of weird labels, wires being labeled themselves and were just wrong, or the colours not matching on some. Also it came with two harnesses and I am not sure what the small black one is for. After market maybe? Anyways, overall great product. Used in my 2002 Chevy Malibu.
