It's compact enough (just 86 pounds) to be portable but so versatile it will cut all metals, including carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, copper, bronze, and nickel-silver, plus non-metals such as wood and plastic. Careful workmanship gives you high dimensional accuracy.

am getting familiarized with the use of certain items of the lathe and the cutting tools also. it's similar to its larger cousin of a machine shop of which have used in adult classes. have machined a part to replace a broken plastic part in a rachet that now works just fine. am waiting to use a drill chuck on order for the tail post for future projects....this lathe is great for the projects i have in mind ....

I bought other lathes but had to return them from damage in shipping, to bad workmanship. This lathe is made at the same factory where all the Chinese mini lathes are made, however this one is made to MicroLuxs specifications and is a better made machine. Smooth handwheel movements, quiet running, and accurate.
