This item went over well with my 17 year old. It came ahead of date wich I lo ve. All the pieces were in tact. The magnification is super.!Good purchase. I do suggest this item.Well worth its money. Very sturdy build.Everything is organized and easy to understand.

I got this to look at plants around my property and it works really well. It comes in a nice case where things have a cutout where you replace things. One hint I'd have is when you first open it take a quick picture of it so you know where to replace stuff when you repack it.The lens definitely work well for an amateur item. I'm not a scientist so my examination is hobby based. I love the fact it comes with stuff to look at right away. You get cool things to practice on right away. Hint: take the example slides out one at a time so you can put them back in the correct slots. The lens don't feel like the fit all that tightly so I wondered if they would work correctly. The instructions were okay but not totally clear. However, the lens work just fine regardless of whether they fit super tight or not.One thing I had a difficult time figuring out was that you must have the light on in order to see the slides. I didn't know that so I initially thought the microscope didn't work. It was like looking through a pin hole. Once I figured out how to turn on the lower light it came up perfectly.There is also a color wheel where you can select to color the slide. I initially thought there were only two colors but soon realized there were even more if you turn the dial correctly.In short, this is a really cool item that I'll have hours of fun with. It's easy to use once I figured out my own missteps. This would be great for adults and for older children.

I received a nice surprise with this microscope. First I thought it's gonna be another toy, but it was not, it actually works and magnifies tiny particles, my son loves it. Of course is not professional grade, but is a great gadget for those who likes to sneak on nature and biology but not wanting to spend a whole salary on it.
