I needed to merge the Out and Thru from a sequencer so my keyboard could be the main head control for everything. Not sure why more sequencers don’t have built in “merge†features. I saw this unit had an input merge 2i/4o mode and it did the job perfectly. I am able to merge the two inputs and broadcast to up to 4 devices. Unboxed, plugged it all in and it just worked.The unit only comes with a USB cable for powering and so I had to use a spare usb port instead of having an AC adapter. For the price it probably should come with the adapter. But the USB cable is of high quality and has a ferrite bead for some ground noise isolation.I have only one annoyance - every time you power cycle, you have to toggle through the desired modes to get to the one you want (2i/4o in my case), by clicking on a button 4-5 times. It has a small delay so it just bugs me to have to click-wait-click-wait….until I get my config.Important to know that the configurations have limitations, for instance, when I am in 2 input merge mode, I can’t use any of the other inputs. This isn’t a problem for me but it could be a limit for thise adding additional sequencers.

This little 4X4 (four Midi In/4 Midi Out Plus USB) Midi Adapter Box can't be beat for the price. It is the perfect starter midi adapter box and cost much MUCH less than other boxes I've seen advertised at more than double or triple the price with less features. Instructions are pretty lousy but you just keep pressing buttons until you hear sounds. I'm very happy with this. I only wish I could find one with audio outputs on it, then it would be perfeect.

This seems a great deal and I don’t care much about frills but sadly I got stuck notes on iOS use and while it may work on more common platforms I had to return it. The CME U6 Pro works fine and my old MIDIPLUS works fine so they will need to update firmware or something. I wanted the four i/o but no joy. Yes I had the mode set correctly.
