First, let me say the seller did nothing wrong. But this stuff is TOO good. Last time i replaced my stove seal i got it from the big box store. The seal wasnt very good, stretched easily was kinda hollow and was probably one size too small. So i ordered on line this time expecting the same thing. Boy, was i wrong! This stuff is thick with a sturdy stuffed middle, doesnt stretch very much (well you can stretch it but its got a good bounce back) overall pretty good stuff. My one complaint, the ends fray easily which just might be the nature of the beast, cant do much about it. So make sure you get the right size because this stuff is sturdy, thick and cant get forced into a space that wont fit...i'll have to order again, but my fault, thought i was getting the crappy stuff from years before.

Really sure this 40 yr old insert had never been maintained or serviced. Dug out the old, flattened stuff. This fit great and greatly improved the seal.

It is not 5/8 when it is relaxed it’s 3/4 plus if your door channel is made for 5/8. This is a nice gasket but way too big

I have the US Stove co King 5500 issue with the door flexing when hot. My primary concern was if this would remain sealed when the flex occurs. The older seal was years old and settled so a gap would appear which ruins the performance of the stove. Can say that after running in very warm condition (39f outside 70f inside) that the door buckled but the seal held. Good deal and the stove has run optimal for four days now. I recommend.
