I've been fabbing sheet metal for nearly 20 years and always used malco or homemade scratchers for custom sizes. I purchased this just to get me over the same day free shipping threshold and it's the best scratcher I've used. That little curved portion really helps to get accurate lines without binding on the material. The malco scratchers have gotten thicker over the years and don't exactly produce as clean of a line as they once did.My coworker's will get my old malco scratchers, because I have since purchased a handful of these to have around the shop and toolbag.

Was going to make my own "Christmas tree" gauge but saw this. Precise, quick, convenient. Well worth the investment.

Best scribe I’ve found under $10. Makes very clear marks on ductwork

Works great . Just like Malco's.But with my old eyes it's a little hard to see the engraved dimensions. I've been at it a long time so I know which indent to use . Wish someone would put a 7/16" on one of these.I got it hoping the scribing edge lasts longer than the Malco A40 does.Only time will tell .

Best scratch gauge I've bought yet, beats the malco in my opinion. They should add a magnet on the back tho. Or add one yourself.

I received this product in a reasonable time from the US. The downsides were that the ruler wasnt flush to the edge of the scribe and there was funny cut out in the bottom....perhaps a bottle opener?
