Works great! Be sure to use the two provided screws to secure the jig. The clamp alone causing the jig to misalign. Nice sharp bit. Cut thru the oak like butter. I recommend this jig.

I bought this to route hinges on 5 replacement doors. This works great and saves a lot of time. Looks so much better than trying to chisel out hinge holes.

Great little jig. I just wish it was made out of aluminum. Then you would have something. Also they would need a little more back set. Because some doors have a reveal so I had to modify it with a strip of oak and double stick tape but it worked great. I mortised 50 hinged in about a half day with this little guy.

Product works great for my small workload, has the latch and the hinges which a few other offerings didn't. Super easy to set up and cut exactly what I needed.

It's a low quality jig. It works pretty good with small routers if you go slow and don't hit the corners when routing it or it will move. Not so good with heavier large routers.

Milescraft has been making quality consumer grade jigs for years and this mortise jig kit meets that quality. Whether you go old-school chisel or router a jig will give you the best shot at a perfect mortise relief. The jig has a couple nice features such as router bit depth guides, accommodates both hinges and latches of common sizes and common door widths. The kit also includes 3/8" router bit. That all said, the jig is made of plastic, do not overtighten the clamp (you shouldn't need to) and a router bit running at 15K RPM will eat up the jig if you are not careful.

This would be an outstanding product if only it were made out of aluminum instead of plastic. As it is, when you tighten the clamp on a door, the plastic frame flexes, so the face is no longer flat. That means the mortise won't be flat, either. To keep it flat, you have to loosen the screw so it's just barely holding on, and then you risk it slipping as you rout out the mortise.I consider this product just barely adequate. It gets the job done, but only if you know what you're doing and you're very careful. I honestly expected better from Milescraft.

Game changing jig, I've used all the possible methods to from hand tools to a router, but this was my first time using a jig and I can tell you that the quickest and simplest way. Plus this jig is quality and it's headache free, all the markings and adjustments are there and easy to figure out.

Well I wanted a hinge jig to make it possible to get it right first time, also to save time but now I've noticed that there is an updated one out now wich is better and more efficient, so now I will have 2 hinge jigs.

I took the risk buying this over the red, yellow and green brand models with less features at a higher price. So glad I did. The bit was sharp and worked great in my Ryobi hand router. The mortises were clean and fit the hinges like a glove. I also found taking off the side I could use it to mortise my jambs. Locking it in place with either clamps or screwing it onto the jamb. Great purchase.

Like other Milescraft jigs, this one is plastic. That means it is not as robust or sturdy as I would like. However, it does the job if you are careful with how you install it on the door and use the router on it.
