This was nothing but a useless piece of plastic. Don not buy. I've been playing for over 50 years. It looks nothing like the picture.

I ordered two of these. First one was for an alto sax- I play a tenor. The second one was crushed. No way to salvage it. As for the muting of sound; don’t know.

This product is improperly named and I fell for it. Wasted good money on a product that is far too small for my instrument and it isn’t even made out of the described materials. IT IS PLASTIC NOT ALUMINIUM ALLOY!!
