This was recommended to me years ago by a former groomer. This is my second pair and I won't use any other kind for my dog. She is super anxious about getting her nails clipped and it can be a chore. These clippers cut through her thick nails quickly and clean, to the relief of both of us. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because once they are dull, there is no way to sharpen them. You have to toss them and buy a new pair. When they get dull, it is a battle to trim the nails. My dog is a 52# Staffy

Got these because my vet recommended them for trimming our older dog’s thick nails. I’m so happy that we did! They took a little bit longer in shipping, but it wasn’t unreasonable or unexpected, and these are game-changers.They cut very smoothly and are so much easier to work with than the guillotine-style ones for trimming dog’s nails. I’ve even use them in a pinch to trim my own broken nail! LolThey’re reallly sharp! Our vet said she’s had a pair for a long time, so I expect they’ll last very well. My husband is now constantly willing to trim the dog’s nails, where he used to always put it off before. He can’t say enough about how much he likes these.

Tried multiple other brands both in store and from Amazon. All of them gave me trouble; rolling the nail, crushing it instead of cutting it, having to put the nail all the way at the front of the jaw and quick slam closed at the back most of the handle is not a safe way to trim nails!Opened these, wiped off the packaging oil, and immediately was blown away. The first clip wasn't great, but that was my own being-scared-to-hurt-the-dog as this is my first pair without the cut depth safety guards. The second one on was perfect. I find it best if the tool matches the paw direction; stops nail rolling.My rough collie usually about hates me by the time I'm done, this last time it was a breeze.Thank you Millers Forge for making a real tool, and thank you Amazon and Amazon seller I purchased from for selling me the authentic item. Thanks also to the reviewer who posted side by side and description of real vs fake, you're probably the one who fixed it for me.

Purchased because I'd heard good reviews, but they aren't that great. Not really that sharp unfortunately and still feel like I'm squashing the dogs nails.I recommend the red miller's forge clippers instead, they're much better.

My dog gets very nervous getting his nails cut and these made him feel more comfortable. They are very sharp and do not break the nails and hurt the dog. Very happy with purchase and would recommend.

I have a male basset hound. His claws are thick, and he is fussy. These clippers are extremely durable and get the job done. I clip bits off at a time instead of large pieces. Since there is no safety guard it makes it way easier to manoeuvre around the thick claws and cut them short. Amazing quality
