I use these for measuring piercing locations and jewelry. They're sturdy enough for multiple uses the strong chemicals we use for sterilizing plastic would work but at the price they're cheap enuff to throw away. Easily to use for measurements in metric of standard.

The metal part (long piece) does not come out all the way. It stops halfway, which doesn't allow the artist to measure properly. When you try to pull it all the way, the screen comes loose and pops out. Tried with 2 of them and it happened to both so either it's a defective product or it's just designed poorly.

With this many it put a smile on my face not to need to get to the expensive ones for not so accurate measurements. They are made of plastic and are fairly accurate!
