About magnetic arc extinguishing
- AC circuit breakers cannot be used for DC, whereas DC circuit breakers can be used for AC.
- AC has a zero point, while DC does not, so DC arcs are more difficult to extinguish than AC arcs
- DC miniature circuit breakers are equipped with a magnetic field system under the breaking contact that pulls the arc into the interrupter chamber to assist in extinguishing the arc.

KERWINN Miniature Circuit Breaker 120V/240V ac Circuit Breaker 1 Pole 16Amp appears well made and snaps on the DIN rail like it should. Easy to read red or green indicator for current status on or off. The breaker has wide openings for wire connections and tightens securely.

The KERWINN Miniature Circuit Breaker mounts perfectly to an aluminum DIN rail or the less expensive pressed steel DIN rails. The circuit breaker has a green and red indicator. What surprised me is that the red indicator shows when the circuit breaker is turned on. The green indicator shows when the circuit breaker is tripped or turned off. I was expecting red for a tripped indication like my Square D circuit breakers, but that's not the case.The electrical connections on the breaker are large enough that they look like they could handle a 6 gauge wire, and easily handled the 12 gauge wire that I'm using. One thing to note is that there are no markings for line or load on the breaker. According to my research on the Internet this means that the breaker is designed so that it can be wired either way, but you might want to check that before installing.

Replaced a 2 pole breaker with 2 of these to get 2 spots in my generator transfer switch vs the 1 240V which i did not need or want.
