The Mitutoyo 141 series vernier inside micrometer includes a set of interchangeable rods for a diversified range of measurement, and has a vernier scale in inch units for making precise inside dimension (ID) measurements. The micrometer and rods have a satin chrome rust- and glare-resistant finish. The measuring faces are carbide-tipped for wear resistance. The vernier scale is graduated to 0.001”. A locking clamp helps hold measurements in place. The micrometer and accessories come with a fitted case for storage.
Micrometers are precision measuring instruments that use a calibrated screw to measure small distances. These measurements are translated into large rotations of the screw that are then able to be read from a scale or a dial. Micrometers are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering. There are three types of micrometer: outside, inside, and depth. Outside micrometers may also be called micrometer calipers, and are used to measure the length, width, or outside diameter of an object. Inside micrometers are typically used to measure interior diameter, as in a hole. Depth micrometers measure the height, or depth, of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot.

All items were not sent. Missing pieces. Wasn’t in a case. My husband purchased this and didn’t read the reviews. Item is being returned for a refund! So t purchase this item. I had to choose a rating but I wouldn’t even rate this one start

Purchased a $400 ID Mitutoyo micometer from Amazon. One of the interchangeable parts was screwed on so tight that we were unable to even assemble the micrometer. Sent it back to Mitutoyo for repair, after having had it for a week. Mitutoyo said it wasn't covered under the 1yr warranty because it was abused ordropped. Explained several times that we were never even able to use it, but to no avail. Extremely disappointed. Have been using Mitutoyo instruments for over 30 years. Guess we'll use Starrett from now on.

Exactly what I was looking to measure Inside Diameters from 2 to 8 inches. Easy to use and precise on measurements.The only disadvantage is the measurement indicator goes to half an inch and then you have to add the .5 adapter to get the full 1 inch.

Did not receive the entire set. Only received the micrometer NO interchangeable rods and NO case

It’s not what is pictured.Only the thimble came without any rods.You can’t measure anything with it.
