I used Magic Lube and the dripping took a week or so to stop. I possibly used too much.

We are so happy with the results of replacing this Mixer Balancing Cap Assembly Replacement for Kohler GP77759 and the pressure mixing valve together as recommended. We were having issues with the water only coming out hot.Replacing both the mixer and balancer at the same time did the job and without any leaking issues that others have complained about. As long as you are taking the the shower apart and replacing one of this, just spend the little extra money to replace both - you will NOT regret that decision. How much is a few hours of your time to redo this?We feel like we have a new shower for our guests with no leaking issues.

When I first installed this, it appeared to work well initially. This is in a shower that I don't personally use, but gets a lot of use. I was told it started having issues (was told "the floor was getting hot") within a month or less, but I couldn't identify the actual cause right away. Fast forward a few months and it was spewing hot water (when in use) from the cartridge, both inside the wall, and down onto the floor (thus the floor getting hot), flooding the wall and the basement ceiling below it. I'm assuming the flood was happening the entire time but only redirected inside the wall in the late stages. So I pulled the cartridge, re-installed it and tried again, only to repeatedly have it spew the hot water when on, I started to think I was going crazy that I couldn't do a simple cartridge swap...after doing more research I found out this wasn't an official Kohler replacement, but turns out that it's a cheap knock off. So I went and got the actual Kohler replacement cartidge at Lowes (at $54 instead of the $29 this one cost me), and it worked perfectly. I should have known the price was too good to be true!

I was unable to locate a genuine Kohler cap , so I purchased this aftermarket unit. First time installing the cap ,it leaked through the valve to the shower head. I removed it and removed the balancer as well and cleaned the ports and applied plumbers grease to all the o-rings and a tiny bit of silicone. It sealed tight second time around. So far so good....

My husband is a fantastic handyman. I order the parts...first time bought the Kohler brand then when he requested I purchase 2 more for backup I tried the TycoonWon brand at 1.2 the price. He said it worked perfectly! So saved money & got a spare for the backup part.

I tried to fix my shower for a long time and couldn’t find the part to do it. It’s an older kohler part apparently and I would have had to order from the company. I saw this part on Amazon and it looked really similar to the part I needed and the price was much lower than the websites I was seeing so I gave it a try. FIXED!! No more leak! Finally!!!

I bought this to replace a leaking bath/shower. I installed it and it is still leaking, although not as much as the old one. I need to take it apart and see if there's anything that can be adjusted. For that reason, I'm giving it a 3 and will update if I can get it working correctly.

It was an easy fix for my leaking shower. My only problem was not took me so long to find the right part as the shower knob did not have any brand engraving. I just happened to see some numbers on the valve and searched the serial numbers on Amazon.
