Well, the answer is obvious. In order to install this item I had to repair the wall damage left by the improper installation by my original builders. I continued to use the old, spring-loaded, toilet paper roll-holder because "good enough" was at play. Having said that, go ahead and DO THIS. The item is gorgeous, and the cantilever arm feature is both clever and convenient. Once properly installed this toilet paper roll holder is rock solid. You could use it as a safety bar without issue. I was a little concerned that the tolerances for the installation of the two separate posts would be tight enough to cause a problem, however, using the supplied template to drill the proper holes made that concern a non-issue. The aesthetic design is SLIGHTLY different from the existing towel bars, yet nobody would ever notice. You can make the judgement of the match quite easily. I mounted ONE of the two sides onto an underlying stud using my own hardware (screws), and highly recommend that you do the same. Enjoy.

Once you’ve had one of these toilet paper holders, you’ll never go back to picking up the little bar on the spring loaded ones off the floor again. SO much easier to use and SO much nicer looking. A contractor suggested this for a room addition, and we’d only had it a week before we decided to replace the ones in the other bathrooms. We sold that house and were only in our new home a month before the ones there were replaced with these. My brother came to visit from out of state and now HIS house is equipped with these. And, it’s Moen - nice quality with great customer service if you ever need them.

Everyone else has already commented on the virtues of the pivoting design. They are all right. It's awesome and you will never look back. Rather than repeat those reviews, I want to comment on why this Moen Kingsley is worth the price premium compared to other products.I purchased three different pivoting TP holders - a Moen Inspirations, a Delta Mandara, and this Moen Kingsley. While all of them look good and function well, the Moen Kingsley looks and feels so much more "rich". The first thing you notice when you take it out of the box is that it has some weight to it. It has a classical elegance that makes a subtle but also surprisingly noticeable statement in your bathroom. Honestly, it makes the room feel more luxurious. The pivot mechanism is smooth and makes a resoundingly satisfying "clank" sound when it closes.Finish - the bronze finish in the product picture is very close to what you receive. On the scale of oil rubbed bronze, Kingsley is perhaps medium-dark with some lighter accents. It is not the super dark, almost black color you sometimes see, and it is not the lighter, copper-like color you also see. IMO it is what "oil rubbed bronze" is supposed to look like. I love Moen fixtures and use them exclusively in my house, however they really need to get their act together with consistent pictures of their various finishes. Oil rubbed bronze in one collection is NOT the same as another, and their website is very inconsistent and misleading.BOTTOM LINE: this is expensive, but worth every penny. It is classy and has a heavy and sturdy pivot mechanism. We loved it so much we bought another one for the downstairs bath!

My husband warned me about buying hardware items like the Moen Kingsley towel bars and pivoting paper holder from the internet, without seeing them first, but when I couldn't find what I wanted in stores, I went ahead and bought them from Amazon, proving him wrong, once again! The pivoting paper holder was about $25.00 cheaper than it was at Home Depot, and I didn't have to pay shipping. It's also a beautiful product; I bought it in the brushed nickel, and it's really elegant, with a soft shine, and the pivot was a revelation! (Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but after years and years of changing toilet rolls on an old-fashioned toilet roll holder, this is so easy.) All in all, I couldn't be more pleased with my purchases: They're beautiful, well-made, and look like they'll last a long time.

Really nice quality from Moen. A lot of the big box stores don't carry the nicer (heavier) quality stuff in store because I guess people prefer the inexpensive stuff, but I really do think it's worth the extra $ to go for the better quality. It feels heavy and is made of metal and no plastic at all. Pivoting arm is great and convenient! Bought the matching towel ring for the same reason - the plastic "metal" ones in stores all feel so cheap and lightweight. Good buys as usual from Amazon!

Moen...a nice quality product. We have the Kingsley pattern in our master bathroom so this paper holder fits right in. I love the pivoting arm for the paper, makes it so nice and easy to change the roll.
