I rarely leave reviews, even when I like a product. But this is worth it and hopefully can help others too. This mat is PERFECT under a Ruggable! I got an 8×10 ruggable in excellent condition second hand but could not rationalize spending the money for the branded mat underneath it. After researching, I didn't get much help about alternatives but decided to take a gamble anyway. And I'm so glad I did! This is a fraction of the cost and literally works perfectly. The felt is not soft, its super super grippy and velcro like. The ruggable sticks to it wonderfully and the rubber side is truly nonslip against my hardwood floors. We did have to trim it to size, about an inch on two sides. It does have a significant 'factory' smell right out of the package, but dissipated quickly. It's thick and cushy and feels so nice under foot and for the kids to sit/play on! If you're looking for an alternative to a Ruggable mat to use under and Ruggable top rug, GET THIS ONE!

I had purchased a 4x6 faux fur rug. It was wonderfully fuzzy, but had absolutely no padding, and the smooth backing was slippery as ice. I tried a different anti slip pad first, but the rug kept slipping off the pad. This pad solves all the problems. It is exactly 4 x 6 feet. It is just shy of a half inch thick. ( I was going to get the 3/8 inch, but for the price, I decided to upgrade. I’m glad I did. It’s good padding, but I think anything less wouldn’t be adequate.) The 1/2 inch padding is thick enough to make it comfortable to sit or kneel on the floor. (Anyone can stand on these, but if old knees are comfortable, you know it’s good.)What’s really amazing is that—as advertised—the bottom surface holds fast to my laminate floor and the top surface holds the rug safely in place.The rug itself has uneven edges (it’s supposed to look like a fur rug) so I’m going to eventually trim the pad to more evenly match the rug. Previous reviews suggested that it is easy to trim. If I have any problems, I’ll update this review.Otherwise, I’ll say—especially from someone who had been shopping for a good pad for a while—this is an excellent non-slip pad and is excellent quality for the price.Edited later to add: Well, I came back to add an update, but I never actually posted this review. So, I’ll just add and post. Several weeks later and I’m still very happy with this pad. But I did want to add a note about trimming it. As mentioned above, the rug I have on top of the mat is not an exact 4x6. I needed to trim about an inch off the length and an inch off the width of the pad to make it fit underneath the rug perfectly. But it was not easy! I tried every kind of scissors I had in the house. A box cutter just shredded it. Finally, my guy came around with some industrial scissors (they looked like tin snips, but I don’t think that’s what they were) and his much stronger hands than mine, and he was able to make a nice, neat trim. With the right tool and the right user, the mat trims nicely with no fraying. I’m going to guess, when they show the picture of the mat being cut with regular scissors, it’d probably the thinner version and not the 1/2 inch.Still, very happy with this product!

Works well, was easy to trim and install. Good value for the price. I was in a hurry and needed to install it immediately….. I wish I had the time to let it ‘air out’ prior to installing. I think it’s possible that would have prevented my only complaint and my only reason for not giving 5 stars . It has a strong odor…… smells a bit like boiled eggs🥴. Now that my events have passed, I’m hoping to figure out a way to de-fumigate it. For now, burning candles in that room ‘tricks’ the nose. My advice to future purchasers would be to open it up and let it air out a couple of days before stifling the smell with your rug. Other than that, it feels very cushy and of good quality.

We just got new LVP and I didnt Want it to get fine scratches under the new rugs so I purchased These non slip. Boy do they stink at first!! The runner rugs more than the 8x10 but I needed To air out the room for a while. Lasted a few days and then I didn’t notice the smell anymore. I love How they give a more plush feel to the rugs and keep them from slipping. Easy to install and I had To cut one for a door rug which was very easy. They are going to work for what I purchased Them for and seem decent quality. I think The thicker option would cause the rug to sit to high up and you would have to trim so the pad didn’t show on the edges. But overall I am pleased with my purchase.

Great rug pad! We got this for our living room and it is so comfy! It was much bigger than I thought so we had to cut it down, but it’s worth it. It hasn’t slid and provides such a good amount of padding under the rug. Highly recommend!

This pad is EXCELLENT. I purchased a cotton rug that wasn't staying in place and is very thin. I decided to give this a try based on the good reviews and I am not disappointed. It's just the right amount of padding and my rug stays in place, even with my dogs.

The chemical/rubber smell was really bad when I opened it. I took it outside to air out. It did take 4 full days. Got it inside, and had to trim a few inches off 2 sides. Ordered the 1/4" and I am very happy with it. I have a washable rug over top which is very thin. We trimmed this to be about an inch from the edges and it looks great. We have tile floors and there is no movement from the rug. Good price just make sure to air it out.

We used it over rough plank flooring with a Persian Rug and it was excellent. It unpacks easily, lies flat, stays in place, and arrives very clean with few random fibres. I’ve already bought another one … highly recommend.

I bought two of these rug pads (5x8, and 9x12) for large area rugs in my place and I am completely satisfied. They arrived neatly packaged - folded in their own boxes - and the folds/ridges quickly disappeared once the pads had been laid out for a little while. Both pads were exactly the shape and size needed so no cutting necessary!The pads are a good thickness - they add a little comfort while walking on the rug but don't raise the profile of the rug so you aren't constantly tripping on the rug edge or kicking it up.This rug pad has changed my entire rug experience. If I need another, I will probably look here first!
