I bought this to have a light to shine down on my keyboard area. I had a swing arm desk lamp that crapped out on me but I must say I like this solution a little better. This light is just there. No complicated mounting and no stand to get in the way. It comes with adhesive pads so if the clamp is not compatible with your monitor it will still mount to it.

I love this desk light, it works well, blends into the desk I have it mounted on to when it's not in use. I like the various modes that you can set, and it is easy to change color temperature or brightness. The temp and brightness settings are both split on either side of the on/off button, so you can go between brightness and temperature backwards and forwards at will, without cycling through all of the settings. The clamp to mount the light has a generous capacity and I was able to clamp it to my IKEA desk that is about 1.5 inches thick. I did not find it easy to attach to my monitor, due to the profile of the monitor in the back. It is sort of rounded and not square, so the clamp would just slip off. I prefer it where it is at, mounted over the top of the monitors, but not shining on them directly. It illuminates my entire desk, which is nice when typing. All in all, I feel this is a good value at just under $19 at the time of this review. I would definitely get it again if I was presented with the choice.

I purchased this light to replace a normal desk lamp and free up space on my work desk. The light is mounted on a Zowie 27" monitor which has a slightly curved back. To mount this light, you are provided with some sticky tape and a screw in clamp on the back of monitor mount. Two large feet are on the front of the monitor mount that are intended to rest on the bezel. My monitor has a decently-sized bezel, so the feet on the mount work fine for me. However, if you have an infinity edge bezel this light would not work. The sticky tape is fine, but the screw in clamp on the back seriously hinders the effectiveness of the monitor mount. Since my monitor is not completely flat on the back, I do not get a solid amount of pressure to keep the light from moving. As I tighten the clamp, the light gets pushed up. This is a major design flaw.Additionally, the brightness of the light is lacking. Compared to a normal desk lamp, this monitor light is very underwhelming. Different shades of white light are available to choose from, but there really needs to be more brightness options that provide better effectiveness outside of a pitch black room. It still serves its purpose, but not well enough. Consider something with a better mounting mechanism and that will offer better light.

This is a basic light bar which will work fine if your monitor is flat enough in the back (side profile from the top). Due to the attachment clamp, it won't work for more curved profiles. You have several different settings for the light output, and it does the job, if it fits.
