I've been at my accounting job for 32 years & have always used a Monroe calculator. I recently needed to update and ordered the Monroe 8145X. It is exactly what I needed and works very well. I definitely recommend it for normal accounting needs.

The machine is heavy duty, which I like after 60 years in accounting, but the issue with the ribbon make it unusable.No happy with machine. 8145X

I've been a Monroe person since getting in the accounting business. My last Monroe lasted from 1999 to 2017 and it never failed me. I've used other calculators but have felt truly comfortable with a Monroe under my finger tips....and this calculator, thus far, is no difference. I love the feel and how the keys roll with my strokes. I'm a life long Monroe person and will continue to be!

I have to use this calculator at work. And honestly, it does the job but less than optimal. If I could have a dollar for the amount of times this calculator will spit out blatantly wrong numbers, I'd be able to retire. It'll say $1600 + $500 is $4000.Occasional glitches are to be expected, but it seems like every shift something like that happens. And thanks to that, I screwed up a payment to a vendor because twice it gave me a wrong number. Not until I put it in my work's computer system did I realize the calculator was off somehow by $118. I had to verify the correct number it eventually gave me several times to make sure it wasn't glitching again. Occasionally I have to use the other one to double check, since my office has 2.
