I used this to make my tortillas. It is great for small ones. I wish it would make them thinner for larger tortillas I usually press them out and then give them a small roll with a rolling pin to thin them out a little more.

The product is made sturdy and I love that they thought to give a rubber mat for it to sit on so it doesn't slide around as you use it. The thoughtfulness to add the tortilla warmer was also a plus. My husband and I love working with cast iron and this is a great addition to our kitchen. We can't wait to make our sourdough tortillas on here. Very well made!

We were very excited to make our very own tortillas, and started putting this Movaluxe Tortilla Press together while reading they're copy: "we are a family owned company and specially pack each and every box" blah blah blah... then, there is a screw and wingnut missing! So there is a press with no handle because the part needed to assemble it wasn't included in the "carefully packed" box! Maybe this press isn't as great as all the reviews have said. Hmmmm...

I'm looking forward to learning how to make tortillas from scratch and using this press.

Just buy it. Use wax paper, and make the dough balls a little bigger than Clementines. I add seasoning to the masa flour and it rocks!!

Summary: The customer service and quality of the items in this kit really made me want to like it. If you like thick flour warps such as gorditas or Mexican pizza this may be for you, but don't expect to get thinner than 2 to 3 times the thickness of store bought tortillas. The press does not press the dough thin enough for tacos or burritos and requires rolling the dough after pressing to get a tortilla thin enough. We reached out for support and they were good, but no suggestions worked. For context, we roll tortillas by hand fine, but after multiple attempts with various suggestions and included recipes using this press we gave up and returned it. The thinnest we could get a pressed tortilla is about the same thickness as 3 or 4 regular ones ( hand rolled or store bought). You may think that since it is cast iron you can just push harder and make them flatter, but that doesn't work because of the flex in the press. You also cannot stack silicone baking matts or parchment paper to make it thinner.

Made A 5lb bag of Masa harina so far (for the 1st time). Makes flat tortillas. Like the handy bag of tortilla shaped parchment paper, and the tortilla warmer is sweet 👌ðŸ¼Totally recommend. Sure the 2 screws with wingnuts for the hinges aren't anything special, but they're so generic that if they ever break or wear out I'll just grab another small long nut and bolt and put it on, IF that's an issue. Doesn't mean it will ever be an issue. But it's big and heavy cast iron, it's flat, not rocket science. Made big tortillas, and small tortillas. Glad I didn't get a mini 8" one, cause the big ones are fun sometimes

This doesn't press the tortilla thin enough. I still end up having to roll them out.
