I am using this setup on an old go pro 6; hopefully, I will upgrade to something better later this year, but for the moment, this works well. I had to exchange my first one due to the mic being dead. But I have used it several times since then. Pics up sound good and helps improve the quality of my videos so much. With the older go pros, you need an adapter to run this. My last photos show it.

It’s got good sound, but you can’t use the mic with the wind shield (fuzzy sock) on a GoPro because it will show in your video.

Just got it and so far went together easy. I was thoughtful about pushing and pulling due to other reviews and was tight but didn't break. Sock is a bit to fuzzy and gets in the shot. Guess you could trim it, but I have an arm for a light and has an extra spot for mic. So no problem. Will find out tomorrow and add to this thoughts on sound and noise reduction.

Nice set up but the cable connectors didn't fit the GoPro hero 7. We had to return it.
