I have had a Harbor Freight propane tank top heater for several years. I have used it to heat my garage in the winter so that I can work on my car, or do other things. It worked well, till half way through this last winter. It would ignite, but would not stay lit. I wasn't sure what the problem was, but had narrowed it down to the thermocouple. I figured, rather than throw the whole thing away, I get this thermocouple, which cost less than $15.00. I was not sure if it would work, but surprisingly it as a perfect fit. Changing it took about 10 - 15 minutes, and the heater fired right up, and stayed lit! I am very pleased (so far) with this item.PS: It does NOT come with the Tip Over Switch, but the connection for the Tip Over Switch. This is a short length of wire, with the appropriate connectors on the ends. I didn't bother change out of this wire, since the old wire was still working. Overall, a good purchase, and very pleased that it worked out.

Bought this part because my heater would not stay lit. It was very easy to install and now I have zero issues with my heater. Highly recommend.

Im sure it works fine however it doesn't seem to be the problem with the heater.Didn't solve the problem.

After being unable to find thermocouple replacement designated for the MH540 model, I tried this part on faith the thermocouple would work.It does. It fits in same mount point as old one and the wire is long enough to accommodate the head swivel.The other wire is too short. See the pic. Thankfully, the old wire did not need replacing.

Well, here it is, just about 5 weeks since the purchase of this thermocoupler for my Mr Heater Propane heater head. It was used about 2, maybe three times since purchase. I live in East Texas and don't get a lot of really cold weather here, so I don't have to use it very often. Supposed to get down into the 20's tonight. Went out to my greenhouse to fire off one of my propane heaters and it would not stay lite. Only reason I can think is that the thermocoupler was not working. Not new to propane heaters, have this greenhouse for over 20 years, always used propane to heat it with. This part just didn't last very long.

I have a double tanktop sunflower heater I picked up at Princess auto a couple of years back, one of the two heaters simply would not stay lit. I did a little research and decided this might be the issue, I searched and came across this item, it is made for the Mr Heater brand but it certainly looked the same so for the price I thought I would take a chance. The install is pretty easy and it worked well, the only issue I had was the female spade connector on the thermocoupler was too small to fit on the heater, I simply cut it and replaced it with the next larger size and everything was fine.

My kids had accidentally knocked over our propane heater and broken the thermocouple wire. I searched all over town, and no one carried replacements. I was so happy to find this product on Amazon, and even more happy when it arrived and was super easy to install. I had to adjust the yellow ground wire connection a little when installing in order for it to properly allow the gas valve to stay open when heating, but that was more my issue than it was the product. All in all, I'm very happy.
