I like this product very much because of the unusual, and very handy, innovative features “built in.â€I admit that my training in mechanical drawing was many years ago. I’ve retained the T-square and angles that I used at what’s referred to in the U.S. as a “technical high school,†But doggone, I’ve misplaced them. I bought the product under discussion because I’m drawing a plan for a product I hope to manufacture. The innovative features I mentioned include “rulers†with imperial measures on the edges of both the 30-degree and 45-degree angles. Other clever features include a simple “French curve†cut into the middle of one angle and a protractor cut into the middle of the other angle. A separate triangular, scale ruler also goes with the set. None of the above features are to be found in my old antique set, nor in any other set I’ve looked at. I consider them unique in my limited drawing experience. Very clever, too! You get four drafting tools for the price of two. From a practical standpoint, the “extra†features save motion and time. One does not need to reach for either a separate French curve or protractor. They are already on the drawing board! As far as durability is concerned, I think they are adequate for my purposes. Time will tell. I’m inclined to think that any really detailed mechanical drawings required by anyone are going to be done on a so-called “Computer Assisted Drawing (CAD)" program these days. While hand-done drawings still fill a niche, they do, after all, represent a pretty ancient artistic skill set. Who cares! They’re fun to do! You can easily see the French Curve/Protractor/Rule features mentioned above in the manufacturer's illustrations on Amazon.

I needed this set for a small art project I had. I mainly got it because it had the best price. I am impressed with the quality of the set.It comes with large right triangles (set squares) and a triangular scale. All 3 pieces are of high quality. The set squares are thick, and hard to break. They are 30-60 and 45 degree triangles. The 30-60 one is graduated 11"x6" and the 45-90 one is graduated 8"x8". There is a protractor in the middle of 45-90 triangle which is pretty cool. The scale is also very sturdy. It will not break. It seems like the prints on it are permanent. It's an architectural scale and it's in imperial units.Over all I am very happy with this product and I recommend it to others also.

I'm a contractor and do my own engineering and drafting, so I have a professional setup complete with drafting machine. So we just moved into a temp home while looking for our "real" one and I don't have room for my drafting table here but I still need to do some drawings now and then. This inexpensive kit is accurate and does the job. No, it doesn't feel as well made (or professional) as the real thing, but the scale is right on and the triangles certainly do the job. For students or occasional use, these tools do the job. When I get my setup back, I'll keep these in my truck to use on jobsites.

This does the trick for the most part. My issue is with the quality of the merch. There's one compass that consistently holds the position that I adjust it to. It has a screw that allows you to select your angle and lock it into place. Unfortunately this one only allows for pencil lead as the drawing medium. It's nice to have extra lead, but it dulls quickly and as it dulls, it also gets shorter. This means that in order to stay true to your measurements, you have to constantly adjust the lead and the compass. It also gets dull fast, so your lines go from really precise and clean to diffuse and blurry really quickly. The other compasses that allow you to insert a pen or other drawing medium don't hold their position, so if you want to draw precise lines with ink, this is not the set for you. Frankly, I would have settled for LESS stuff in this package, if that meant it could all be of higher quality. Unfortunately, that's not the case. It's good value for what you get, and if you're not too focused on precision, then you might find this to suit your needs perfectly. However, I think for the same amount of money, you could fine ONE really great quality compass and be done with it. The other items (eraser, protractor, rulers etc. are all good enough quality, but for me, the big item here was the compass, and that item doesn't really cut it in the end.
