Nice finish and appears to be milled smooth. The side slot could be a little closer to the end of the taper.

Unable to remove pen mandrel from extension. Granted for a pen mandrel it’s not a huge deal, but for a live center, not being able to remove it is a big deal. You “lose” 2 inches from the length of a spindle or depth of a bowl
