Update Review: I was sent the correct item after the reorder. I can't imagine finding a better deal on subs that are enclosed than this product. Very strong. My teen son was quite impressed. He helped me install. I did not go with the amp/sub package here as the reviews said the amp wasn't great. I went with Audiozerone ZE1000.1 2000W Monoblock Class D amp to push these subs. Does a fantastic job also for a great deal. Used 4guage wiring kit (also from amazon). My son and I were able to install this without issue. I can confirm it fits in the trunk (barely) in 2009 Ford Mustang GT Convertible.Original Review: Saw review of speaker not matching listing. I also received old out dated speakers. Had to return. I would keep this if they had the same specs, but this one received is inferior by a good bit. So looks like it may be hit or miss if you get the correct product. I reordered hoping I get what is in the listing. Have to check model number on the box. New version does have white lettering that only says MTX, but the box will have the model number which is how you can tell. Last digit should be a “Dâ€

For starters, this box was reasonably priced at $229. However, I opted to buy "used like new" when it arrived I opened it and expected some dings or tears in the material, but this thing was absolutely flawless. It looked brand new. I chose this particular box because of its newly added port as the older ones sounded a little punchy. It's got a contoured back so it fits in my 2013 Dodge Ram perfectly flush and doesn't move around like my previous flat backed box. It was basically plug and play, as everything was already wired up internally so I didn't have to make any modifications. My amp was already pre-installed, and it is a 1000W Rockford Fosgate. I had to tone it down a little bit for the initial break in period of the speakers, I took it easy on them for about a week and let me tell you, these things POUND! 1200 watts each, and they handle the amp well. These at first by their price seemed a little bit lower end on the spectrum, but I was dead wrong. You can spend more money if you want, but the results I've gotten out of these speakers have me slack jawed. Because of the newly added Port they've done to The Terminator box, the differences are very noticeable. I've considered buying another one just to have on standby should I ever blow them. But that seems doubtful as I've run them pretty hard. Couldn't be more pleased with these, and I got almost $100 off for buying used like new. Way to go MTX for upping your game! By the way little side note, got it delivered in one day, so Amazon gets a shout out as well 🤘

They definitely bump and for less than 150$ two twelve inch speakers and a subwoofer box is a good deal for entry level subwoofers. It’s also very comfortable being able to push these to the limit. The MTX amp does its job but gets very hot! I have yet to make it go into protect or have it shut off on me. It just makes me uncomfortable that it runs so hot.

I see packages with these speakers and here the app that comes with it is not enough. I opted for an MTX thunder amp versus the Terminator and I couldn't be happier. They are in my plumbing van so I don't want them to be too crazy but I feel they could handle more power if I wanted to give it

The Subs look awesome, the box is beautiful and the price is nice. I installed these subs with a Hifonics Zeus Gamma 1200.1D which puts out about 450w rms at @ 2ohms. With the gain bareley on for my ritual 2 week break in period the subs seemed to bump harder than they are suppose too. I double checked everything: breakers, wiring, batteries, ect.... Low and behold the problem is the ohm load. the ohm load determines how much power the amp puts out. in this case as you can see from the pic we're getting close to the 1 ohm mark(1.6). which means the subs are getting more power than i intended from the amp i selected. Closer to 550w instead of the 450w thats needed. If i left the set-up the way it was the speakers would have blown for sure in a day or 2. maybe i'll keep them an get a smaller amp that puts out about 500w at 1ohm or keep the box and replace the subs with 2ohm dvc subs wired in series-parallel for a 2 ohm final load. either way its more time and money than i wanted to invest in a budget build for my daily driver. i got talked into buying these subs by a friend that swears by MTX. He's an idiot & MTX are jerks for not checking these things. if you tell us the ohm load is 1.6 from the start we can plan a build that allows for that. but instead i got 8ga pwr/gnd when it should be 4ga and the subs pulling a 1ohm load instead of 2ohms. Thanks for nothing MTX this is the last dollar you will ever get from me or anyone i know......Update 9/25/23: I've decided to keep the subs and the box. As for the subs, I ordered a ported box for more ventilation and seperate terminals for each speaker since they are SVC I don't have many options. Separately they should be 4ohms or close to it and I can have a solid month to break them in before wiring to 2ohms for more power. After I break them in it won't matter if the multimeter says 1.6 ohms because at that point they can handle the power. Just so you know I always overpower the amps in my build by 25% so the amp doesn't have to work as hard to make the RMS payload. For example if I have 2-12" 2 ohm DVC subs that need 500w RMS each that's 1000w RMS. I get an amp that puts out about 1250w certified at a 2 ohms. As for the box, its really purrty so I'll use it in another build later on down the line. Shout out to Bid D Wiz @ Williston Audio Labs on youtube. His in depth, detailed reviews can help you learn more so you can do better when shopping for car stereo equipment.💯

A great way to add some more bass to factory stereo. Its very loud and can easily drown out the factory speakers so adjust the gain properly. The set screws on the amp are a little flimsy, especially the remote on terminal. The remote on wire is usually 14-18 gauge and too small for the set screw to grab. You will have to attach a banana plug or something with more substance to the end of the remote wire or the set screw will go through the plate and eventually be useless.

A real banger that performs perfectly and beyond expectations with a good amplifier. I'm running mine with a Kicker Amp pushing 1000 watts RMS and the subs handle the power like a boss!

1st off let me say I have been doing my cars as a hobby for 15 years. The amp had a buzz out of the box ( not a ground loop) and the subs sounded awful.Tried to return the item but I had to do it at a cost to me, then shortly after the return eligibility they seized up completely.I wore them in properly, and when they seized I was not even playing loud. Now I have been told to contact the seller but have no idea how. Can't find a way to contact them on the Amazon app.
