I run into many occasions when I need a brass eyelet, and I bought now for a specific need. I keep my tees and sharpies and divot tool in a gallon zip-lock bag hanging on the side of my golf bag, but the hole where it clips onto the bag gradually enlarges to the point where the bag might tear off completely. The eyelets are in two pieces, the tall post, and the ring. I built a sandwich right on the tool, with, from bottom up, the post, hole #1 of a rectangle of black lens cleaner, the baggie itself, hole #2 of the lens rag, and finally the ring. Crimped the sandwich down tight, and it's perfect.Note: The crimping tool does NOT cut a hole in the material. With a regular hand-held hole punch, it is about impossible to punch a hole in a lens cleaner or a baggie, so I folded a piece of an index card around both sides of the baggie, and slid it into a strong 3-hole punch. The hole is clean as a whistle. The picture of the tool that shows in the ad is deceptive, because the idle position of the tool is wide open, like a big X, not closed as in the picture. I would recommend that the vendor throw a velcro strip into the package. No instructions come with the kit, but there are instructions on the ad page. Even without those instructions, the jaws of the tool are each shaped for their specific purpose. The jaw without a ball fits perfectly the base of the post. The post with a ball in the middle fits perfectly the ring. I can see that to put the post and ring on the incorrect sides might damage the jaws.

I have a shower curtain I purchased over 20 years ago. It was handmade without any eye protection when hanging. I used those double-sided thick stickies in the past, but they don't wash well, so I decided to step it up and purchase this set.At first I needed help understanding which side was which because no instructions were included. However, the illustration on Amazon clearly shows how to add them and which side the pliers need to be.I very carefully added the grommets to the curtain's "eyes" and within 20 minutes (being very careful) added 12 professionally created grommets. I was absolutely thrilled!!! My 20 year old curtain is like new and can hang without any chance of tearing or further damage.Get this set, its well made, the pliers are good quality and you will not be disappointed.

I had no issues with this tool. I've never used a grommet tool, but upon studying the design for a minute, I was able to figure out how the thing works in conjunction with the grommets.Yes, its a little cheaply made- isn't the greatest quality, but just don't press too hard when forming the grommets. Also, if you can get a hole punch (I used a regular hand-held paper hole punch) and make the holes in advance of using the tool with the grommets, its goes a LOT smoother.I think some users may be applying too much pressure with the tool and the cheap little pieces of metal (grommets) because they're not all that durable, so you really don't need to press very hard at all to get the metal to bend over. Also, as someone else mentioned, it does work the best if you can rotate the tool a little while pressing. Seems to make a more even clamping around the perimeter if you can move the tool while pressing, releasing, turning, pressing, releasing, rotating, etc.

Looks great and easy to use be careful not to make the hole too big or it won't hold. Mine did not come with instructions but it's pretty simple to use the smaller flat part acts like a washer you place it on after inserting the grommet then place the knob on the tool onto the hole and clamp down so the split ends wrap around the washer.

This is an eyelet, not a Grommet. If you’re planning on using this for corsets, then go with a different product. The unfinished backing will rip any layer that’s underneath it. The edges are very rough and will pick and pull.

It’s a good tool to use on grommets, but the package I got didn’t have the very thin disk piece and only the tops, luckily I already had extra grommets in the same size! Also!!!! If you use the tool the wrong way the grommet gets bent!!! If you use it correctly it won’t get bent!!! Just FYI since I see a few people that look like they used the tool the same (wrong) way I did, just simply look at the directions or do a few test-grommets before you destroy your project!! Using it correctly will make the grommets come out perfect!

First, the product was delayed it's arrival for almost a week of its original date. There was no communication from the vendor to us until a day after the expected date. I filed a complaint to Amazon, them the vendor reach out to me. They try to return some credit to me for the next order, but given this experience, I would never use them again. I personally dislike zero communication between vendors and the client. The product comes without any instructions, I had to experiment a few of them to do it properly. However, the product's material seems cheap, it is not worse 30 bucks in my opinion.
