I Bought these mostly for the wooden hands an I'm not disappointed in the least. As with most of the reviews I also found them to be a very snug fit and needed some motivation-by-hammer to tap them into place.The have a clean and rustic look and can be easily stained if needed.

Made a clock out of a 40 year old cutting board burned it finished it with 4 coats of gun oil .

The clock works well. Smooth second-hand movement. Very quiet. Love the look of the wooden hands, but are very delicate and must be applied with just enough pressure to seat but not too much to break. I broke a second hand when I missed the center post and the brass split tip on the hand broke off. Very oddly, AA batteries are too long and won't fit completely in the battery holder. Instructions don't include orientation of hands needed to seat properly on the works, and they apparently only fit one way. I placed the large brass ring down on the minute and hour hands.

Quality of the wood. The ease of assembly (once you learn the specific and delicate way the arms all attach). The overall look of the finished product, everyone loves it.
